Yeah, I think the Allstars being announced/leaked has sparked a mass negotiation, as well as the long offseason.
Basically this. Already know we're losing a few guys. So why not start trying to find their replacements asap.
I'm not blaming the clubs that are trying to cover their losses, hell I've done that since day one. It's more that I don't get why someone like azzal or Frizzed would've decided already where they were going. Eddie made the decision to move until we changed his mind. After how long the off-season was last time, and how many changes we had of presidents, I just can't imagine saying I was going to say, the Rays, and then finding out that half the people there I was joining to play with are leaving anyway.
Haha, tbh an indebted to the 'Rays - when I was even more dire than I was now they and the stickies were the only teams who'd be willing to sign me - and I saw more room for me at the 'Rays - therefore both those clubs I'd always go to if I was needed I guess. Don't want the 'Rays to fold
Eddie had wanted to come to us a while before just the start of this season tbf to him, like hed said yes pretty much before he joined you, so bit harsh on using him as an exampe as it wasnt sudden for us. But with Bedsey the chance of 0 FC for him stopped him coming back then. I agree on the people like azzal though
I think the extremely long off-season has a lot to do with it. You say "already" as if players have only just moved into the new subforums but I think that I, for example, signed my last Ravens contract over a year ago. The actual simming side of things hasn't changed too much but people have formed new friendships and want to be in clubs with different players. The Allstars created a bit of a chain reaction too. The offseason won't be even nearly as long this time around.
Also - and I've said it elsewhere - none of the seven proper teams will be folding. That is, all the current clubs minus the Gamblers. I may even add the Gamblers to that soon enough; I don't think I'd like to see them go. This is true even if they want to fold. It's not going to happen; no more folding. If you don't want to run your club anymore, give it to someone else. Or just completely bail and let me open up applications to take it over. If a club just fails to sign a decent enough sized squad I just won't start the season until they do. Folding is not an option for the Stingrays.
To be fair, if I knew the off season was going to be like a year long I'd have signed with Vipers for S10. Edit: As for azzal, he's being forced out iirc.
Deadset seems though that half of the people in these new cliques are all moving about anyway, which is more my point. People are moving to clubs to be with their new mates, but a few of those blokes haven't committed themselves yet anyway.
Yeah, but I can't see why you'd have agreed to be at the 'Clones in the first place. You would've been first choice spinner at the Vipers, and at a club you'd obviously prefer to be at. EDIT: In the past with situations like that, we've generally worked out some sort of trade or release.
I think Frizzed knew we didn't have a replacement and thinking it wasn't going to take a year it was more of a favour to Bedsey, and loads of credit to him for that. We all knew he was going to be leaving regardless of what happened this season
A favour to Bedsey, who is now leaving himself. Just seems to be going in circles. Things like us letting the Crusaders have Bakkum as a favour to Wilson, and then he ups and leaves anyway and we're now set to get Bakkum. All could've just happened in the first place if people hadn't had second thoughts after jumping the gun with agreeing in the first place.
