(A) Not yet because my net crapped out when I tried, got like 5 mins of play (B) Me, Sydney and Melbourne (C) Did you see Will's making a movie called "Down down the deep river"
What songs are you guys keen on seeing thrown into the setlist for this tour? I really wish The Stand Ins isn't as neglected as it has been lately on previous tours. I can only imagine Blue Tulip would be explosive to hear live. Also although it's a staple they seemed to skip over Black when I saw them in New York a few months ago so here's hoping the same doesn't happen in Auckland and Melbourne.
So i was on their site last night (like 1am or somethign) and all of their older shirts were 40% off. Thought it was awesome so set a reminder for this morning to order some.....all full price again. ffs.
Boys were on fire tonight. Will post more about it when I'm not as shattered but you guys are in for a treat next week. A girl in port :fap:
Nah, I wish. At the time I didn't know whether I'd gotten into uni or not but can't go now because it clashes with the first week of classes. Gave my airfare to my grandmother, the ticket to the show with it too. Not gonna lie though eyebrows would be raised if she ended up going to that. Was front and centre last night, and it was perfect. It was almost like a private concert just for me given the crowd was so disappointing and quiet. At one point Will even commented "Well this is awkward." They were that silent. It was a bit of a mission getting in though. My fortunately bearded companion was able to waltz on in no problem but my brace-faced self was not so lucky and got asked for ID. Gave a little spiel to the bouncer "favourite band radiradirah..." And he was nice enough to let me in despite my age. Managed to snag a setlist and poster courtesy of Justin afterwards too which was the icing on the cake.
The crowd was rowdier than that in Wellington, but there were a good number of cunts who decided to carry on their chat at max volume during the acoustic part of the set. Almost throttled this 50 year old bitch behind me who was alternating between chatting about her haberdashery business and filming the show. Utter, utter bitch. Set list obviously dominated by the latest album. No Westfall was a bit disappointing, but with so many tunes to choose from, it wasn't a huge surprise.
Yep - they certainly did. During the acoustic spot, he asked for requests, so get yourself prepared for that. He did reject a couple of requests for not being solo-able before playing A Stone.
So jealous that you guys got requests. I would have gone mental for A Stone. Set list for the Auckland show was. Red was also on the set lit but they never played it. It Was My Season On A Balcony Black Rider Pink-Slips John Allyn Smith Sails All The Time Every Day Stay Young The Valley Your Past Life As A Blast Song Of Our So-Called Friend Kansas City Where The Spirit Left Us For Real Our Life Is Not A Movie O Maybe Lost Coastlines Down Down The Deep River A Girl In Port Unless It’s Kicks
Mmmhmm. Agreed. Still was a good gig. His crowd banter was a bit odd though. He kept referring to some incident of his own making at his last Wellington show. Sounds like he wrecked the last Wellington gig or something. He apologised for it every 3 or 4 songs or so and then was confused about the crowds bemused look. "Were none of you here last time then?" Was a bit odd.
yeah he's a really odd guy. brilliant performer but from from a charismatic front man. first time I saw them we were at this venue (a big club in Sydney) early and they walked in, realized we were obviously there for the gig and invited us up to soundcheck. was unreal, and then we drank with them for 2 hours before they played. was very nervous meeting will and he split, went and did his own thing having a look around Sydney.
