This isn't a list of players I didn't rate. It's a list of players who have improved. Schulz is already like 2nd in the goalkicker award lol
How do people feel about these amendments? Any wrong ones/ones I've missed? Up: Stef Martin, Robbie Gray, Pearce Hanley, Jackson MacRae, Anthony Miles, Jeremy McGovern, Ollie Wines, Tom Rockliff, Shane Savage, Andrew Gaff, Jack Crisp, Jarrad Waite, Levi Greenwood, Jason Winderlich, Jake Carlisle, Elliott Yeo, Darcy Gardiner, Jake Stringer, Sam Lloyd, Easton Wood, Daniel McStay, Zach Merrett, Max Gawn, Marcus Bontempelli Down: Chris Masten, Adam Cooney, Dustin Fletcher, Dean Cox, Zac Smith, Shaun Hampson, Jon Giles, Ricky Henderson, Leigh Montagna, Dane Swan, Angus Monfries, Jeff Garlett, Leigh Adams, Aaron Mullett, Aaron Black, Matthew Boyd, Kyle Hardingham, Jed Adcock, Robbie Warnock, David Hale, Chris Mayne, Daniel Merrett, Jesse White, Ben Rutten, Zach Tuohy
It's not about saying 'they're good' - it's about saying they're better than I'd assessed them. His last 3 VFL games: 26 disposals, 4 marks, 80 hitouts, 1.1 23 disposals, 13 marks, 39 hitouts, 4.1 18 disposals 8 marks, 57 hitouts, 3.1 - beat Warnock 47-19 in the hitouts to put it in perspective over those three games Max Gawn averaged 219 supercoach points. 657 across the three. That's how dominant he was. The database had assessed him as a low level AFL ruckman/good VFL ruckman & very low level AFL KPF/okay VFL KPF. Looking at his VFL performances this year/esp over the last month it's clear he's an elite VFL ruckman and good VFL KPF. In his AFL game after that he was Melbourne's best player with 15 disposals, 9 marks, 18 hitouts and 2.3 playing as the second ruck. Those figures are ridiculous for a bloke playing second ruck. He beat McEvoy/Hale as a combo when he rucked against them too. I'm not saying he goes to being a genuine option, but it's clear he's AFL standard. I think instead of being a low level AFL ruck/very low level AFL KPF he goes to okay AFL ruck/low level AFL KPF. I think he's displayed that he's quite a good player over the last month. All the suggestions I've put forward are about players who, since I finished the db update, have performed well/poorly enough to justify a slight or better chance. Or they were knocking down the door when I did the update but didn't have the sample size and now a month or two later, they do.
James Gwilt definitely needs to be given a boost. I know Coxy and Hale have been on the decline this year, but wasn't aware Masten had been. Really, Pendles hasn't been at the same level this year as the last couple and I'm not sure that Todd Goldstein has been, but then my view is probably quite different from everyone else.
Masten's just been not himself. He'll bounce back next year I'd say. Pendles has been about the same. Has copped some pretty hard tags which make life tough but in general I think he's still the best non ablett mid in the game. Only 1 below 108 supercoach game this year highlights his consistency despite tags. Goldy had a terrible start to the year by his standards which was factored in to the pre-season updated. Over the last 2 months he's the form ruck in the comp with Jacobs though, IMO. 128 supercoach average over the last 8 weeks indicates his improvement given it was 94 after 10 games. He's probably put a case forward to be restored to his 'last season' levels with his ridiculously good last 2 months.
daniel merrett: he can do everything except kick a goal. Lower his goal accuracy, maybe? max gawn: he's definitely AFL level. Nothing starring, but he's better than the magoos. You don't get 5 scoring shots against the Hawks without being a solid AFL player. jeff garlett: guy is struggling in the magoos. jordan lewis: bloke has made himself one of the elite mid-fielders imo. not sure how high you rate him, though. eddie betts: he's in very good form, but you may already have him rated highly. angus litherland: speedy, agile defender. david hale: no idea. he was awesome in 2013 and shows snippets of old form. he booted five goals and dominated the ruck in the vfl a couple weeks ago. jon ceglar: is forcing hale to work his ass off to keep his spot in the hawks. luke lowden: averaging 3 goals in AFL, solid ruckman.

More seriously, not sure whether Bock has anything left in him. Harsh to downgrade someone that hasn't played, but not exactly sure how you would have rated him in the first place. In fact, without knowing how you rated guys in the first place, it's a bit hard to comment.
Can't tell you're a Hawks supporter :/ Merrett's being reduced, Garlett too. Lewis probably deserves a rise based on this season. Hale really isn't the same player he once was. Ceglar's ability was factored in on the last update and Sam Kerridge has a 6 goal haul at AFL level. It's one game and he hardly sets the VFL on fire. Reasonable prospect/vfl player but he shouldn't be a gun in this. Yeah the database rates Bock as if he's been dealing with a severe compound fracture for years. Movement and fitness is shot and he's a bit out of touch. The broken leg just ruined him.
so you believe max gawn is a very low level afl ruck? majak does well but hardly dominates. he's also far worse at afl level?
but whatever, cbf arguing it. because it's one of my players and upgrading any of my players brings extra scrutiny for understandable reasons. In the interests of perceived impartiality I won't upgrade any of my players, just downgrade.
He's very low level. Must be a reason why he's in the F50 95% of the game. Didn't even know he was your player.
he's a 208cm ruckman who has smashed every ruck he's come up against in the vfl (inc blokes who are afl rucks i.e warnock) and at AFL level breaks even or better when he chops out in the ruck. He plays in the F50 70% of the game because he's the 2nd ruck. As most teams run with, one player takes the lead. When he relieves Jamar or plays by himself he breaks even. Not sure why you dislike him so much, he's a genuinely reasonable player.
