Will most likely stick with no trades this week. Give under-performing blokes from last week a second chance and if they fail again will trade before the price changes
Traded Ibbotson to Taylor Hunt. Figure for 60k less Hunt will probably average similar or better but also accumulate a lot more cash.
Heh, stupid to trade out Selwood from one bad game. Where's the evidence he's declined? Ablett still managed 119 despite his shoulder issues. What's he gonna be like once he's match fit? He was always a bit risky, you've gotta stick with him. Those kneejerking deserve to finish below 100,000. Newnes on the other hand might actually be worth a trade out. He was always a bit of a punt, and it's doubtful he'll be in the best 10 defenders. Still he deserves some time.
See that's actually one move that might be worth it. None of Mumford, Goldstein and Naitanui hit the 100 despite a quality game. Seems to suggest it'll be a hard slog for rucks this season, and it might be worth going to cheaper rucks like Leuenberger, Kreuzer (when fit) and Bellchambers.
I think people just saw Selwood's low score compared to other guns and went chasing points. It also doesn't help when your team gets done by 10 goals which won't happen very often for Geelong. Newnes/Lumumba to Brodie Smith will be one I seriously consider next week. I had Smith in my side for the majority of the pre season and then got sucked in by Lumumba. Will see how Round 2 pans out before making any decisions though.
Heh, I had Lumumba for most of the pre-season, but traded him out after seeing that he's averaged above 80 once. Smith was always a lock for me, saw him getting more midfield time and at 23 he seemed like a better option for kicking on than most defenders.
Lamb getting dropped and not even an emergency is a bit of a worry. Will see how Lambert goes this weekend and may make that trade next week
Running with no emergencies in the forward line this week with Bartel and Lamb out. Praying for no more late withdrawals
Glad I went with my gut and didn't start with Ablett. Need to get Lamb out but unsure who for yet, possibly Honeychurch
Pendles would have to be in a fair bit of doubt for Friday as well. Left the track early with his dodgy ankle
