    2 of West's 5 brave captains dropped

If he drops Brooks he will have to name a 6th captain for when Tamou is off the field.

    I'm here for it.

This would really be something special

Really looking forward to the Sharks Vs Storm game this week.

Fitzy has done a great job with the Sharks so far on both sides of the ball. Fewest points conceded in the first 5 rounds and Hynes has looked really good at halfback which was always a concern gong into the season

Stuart vs. Maguire - who goes first?

  6. Magic AJ Parker

Maguire for sure, Stuart has enough runs on the board and enough circumstances around his roster to see out the season IMO. Plus he's a Raiders legend.

Maguire is first gone, I don't know if he survives another round if they cop a heavy defeat to Parra which looks likely.

Stuart is also best buddies with the media (Fox at least) so there's literally no chat about him whereas there's endless chat about Madge.

I'm gutted that the Broncos didn't do a better job trying to get Hynes. They probably find a way to make him shit though so we're all probably better off with him at the Sharks.

    I reckon there's 3 tiers:

    Maguire

    Griffin
    Barrett

    O'Brien
    Stuart
    Holbrook

Griffin is just lucky Wests are such a mess. If they weren't in the comp he'd be copping it from all sides, his contract extension last year was just bizaree.

I feel like Barrett is the other in danger this season, didn't have the cattle to work with last year, but they've done a fair bit of recruiting and it takes so time to gel etc but if they're still looking like a bottom 3 in another 6 weeks I think there'll be questions.

Get the feeling the others hold on bar losing every game from here and spoon type effort, does seem to be a weird dynamic down at Canberra with Stuart over the last year or two. I never feel like O'Briens spot is totally safe, but that's probably just his lack of profile.

Me too, Sharks are the team making things interesting, feels like a bit of rinse and repeat with the rest of the comp.

Walters should be up there with Griffin and Barrett. He fucking stinks.

The Dragons have only won 1 of their last 13.

People seem to be really underestimating just how bad they have been.

Reckon Barrett might survive until 2023 as they've still got some big names to come in and their side being so dire last year. But I don't think he's a good enough coach and they should probably move on.

Winning this week probably saves Griffin from immediate pressure but they don't want to be 7-17 or something by the end of the season.

And yeah, O'Brien feels like an underperformer. If Newcastle finish Bottom 4 I could quite easily see him in trouble.

Nathan Brown is probably the one you've missed, but the Warriors actually look pretty OK this season and the circumstances around them have been difficult TSTL.

Sadly, it doesn't look like the gap between the haves and the have nots is deteroriating much - I feel like you can already lock in (barring strange injuries) Penrith, Melbourne, Easts, Manly, Parramatta, Souths and Cronulla making finals. And only Cronulla look notably different from previous years.

8th spot could be a wildcard though I guess?

There seems to be more potential contenders this year. Penrith and Melbourne still the standouts but Sharks, Roosters, Eels, Rabbitohs and Sea Eagles all have the potential to contend this year IMO. Could be one of the tighter finals series in a while.

That Wests win was great to watch yesterday. The game bogged down a bit in the 2nd half but the finish was awesome.

    Nah

It's really Penrith's to lose. Storm and possibly Roosters could challenge them. I don't think Sharks are an actual threat, people talk up their loss to Storm as a positive, but they still got pumped. Still not sold on Hynes, I see this as more a purple patch, instead of him being an elite half.
