Yeah they were going to make it an Under 23s comp at one stage I think but they're not doing that anymore, they're just changing the way the draw works so it doesn't clash with other stuff or something. Brockley keeps posting about it on CricketWeb but he says a different thing every time so I stopped paying attention.

Just had a look for a CA Cup fixtures list.. the one on cricket.com.au is from 2005/06 so you should just ask Nathan.

I think HHD might be overlooked ITBT. South Africa's selectors set the trend in doing that.

And MC would definitely fit in with a team called the Beers, from what I've heard...

The first three names that spring to mind in terms of first grade standard halfbacks who'd be likely to change clubs are Head, Finch and Dobson. Finch and Dobson have history at Canberra though and it's not all pleasant so I doubt they'll be considered at all, so that leaves Head. As good as he is though, it's really pretty risky and he basically can't run or tackle anymore at all.

Of course there's your favourite, Josh Lewis. He may or may not be a first grade standard halfback but he's got more chance than Herbert so if all else failed I'd offer him a contract. From all reports, he'd give his left nut to play first grade too so you'd get him for absolutely nothing if you offered him first dibs on the 7.

Official comp doesn't start that early but we have trials starting then.

Well I know my local comp starts in just under a month, but it's on astro this season so it'd be kind of pointless for you (and me for that matter, really). I have absolutely no idea when the ND development thing starts but I'll let you know when I find out.. it's usually on Sundays but at least it's on turf.

You might be better off asking Farhat when the Parra comp starts.. I was actually thinking of doing so myself once I found out the turf pitches had been stolen.
