Of course it's self-fulfilling a bit because of the past performance factor, but some players seem to be randomly good/shit for no apparent reason, over pretty long periods. I think most people from the outside would probably put that down to the random talent assignments but it's often just a rut or golden patch, and if it happens early in your career it can drag your past performance factor down/lift it up for quite a while before it reverts to the mean.

- Why should blokes who rarely log in now be better than those who are here all the time
- Those who post now and build a pretty good post count would only reap the rewards in a few years and by then, like you blokes, they'd be semi/inactive
- It'd encourage spam
- There would be absolutely no room for newbies to advance, virtually.

I'm far higher on post count than activity, I'm sure - so what you're proposing benefits me as I'm the highest batsman on post ranks I believe, but it's not realistic. At all.
