New Vegas is legit. I'm so not keen for Fallout 4 because Obsidian have nothing to do with it. NV was better than F3 in every way.
I was addicted to Fallout 3 a few months ago, only game I've completed in years and years. Hated it and was hard to get into very early, was dark, hard to kill shit with a crappy pistol and running out of ammo. Think I did it wrong, skipped the town with the atom bomb and went straight to killing bandits and those spiders, and avoiding the Orc guys. Once I got the hunting rifle, game was fucking sick.
Hahaha I was the same. Lost my shit trying to kill those armored enemies with my shitty pistol and not enough ammo. And while I didn't skip the atom bomb town I couldn't do anything there because my explosive skill was to low to disarm the bomb. Also lost my shit when I first entered DC and got ambushed by enemies with automatic weapons vs my single shot rifle
The funny thing is on console i'd pay this thinking it was a pretty decent price, but something about it being on PC at that price (even with it reportedly being a good port) is like ehhh I buy pc games all the time too.
Fallout New Vegas is my top 5 games ever. Absolutely massive. I've completed in about 3 times now. Contemplating going for a Hardcore run at it. Top 5 games for me (in no order) on xbox 360 Fallout New Vegas Mass Effect 3 Gears of War 3 GTA5 Modern Warfare 2 Close mentions for Forza 4, Minecraft, Battlefield, Fallout 3
Yeah I played Fallout NV first and was thoroughly addicted. It was so good that I played it throughout my exam period. Got Fallout 3 recently and am struggling to get into it to quite the same level. I've found that it's a lot harder to earn caps in Fallout 3, so by extension it's harder to keep well-stocked in the ammo department. Plus fuck mutants.
FNV's big problem was that it had faaaaaaar too many bugs. Maybe that was just the xbox version, but it was buggy as hell to start off with, and a number of the issues were never fixed. However, it was an excellent game that I have spent too much time on. Same with F3 and I suspect it'll be the same with F4, though I'll need to buy a new console/PC to play that.
On PC you get so used to sales and everything's just downloadable; think the last part plays a bit in what people feel is an ok price. https://www.reddit.com/r/GameDeals/ is worth a look at if your looking for offers. Spotted one for Metro Redux the other day; was worth it too. Not that I was surprised given Stalker had good atmosphere too.
Yeah New Vegas was the best, wouldn't dream of playing it unless you're in hardcore mode. Just makes the game more believable.
After playing New Vegas, Fallout 3's story seems so shit. I didn't even realise I was in the final sequence :/
Yeah, New Vegas is a lot better than 3. From the gameplay improvements, to ridiculously better writing, characters, factions, quests etc. More than 5 voice actors too. Some of the DLC is tops too, I loved Dead Money (it's not for everyone), and Old World Blues. Lonesome Road was pretty good. Honest Hearts was kinda shit tho (other than The Burning Man and survivalist logs) It is pretty damn buggy though.
I got so bored of 3 that I didn't even try New Vegas. Not that bothered about the new one either for the same reason. But tbh I find it very difficult to get hyped about any single player games these days - I get so much more out of playing with my mates online and just don't have the time to get into single player games.
New Vegas has a much more interesting storyline than 3. My mate (who is a reviewer) basically told me 'Fallout 3 has sick sidequests, NV has a sick storyline.' Much preferred NV myself, so I would really recommend you give it a go. I'm like you in that I struggle to see through a game, but NV kept me glued to my screen.
