Themes I would like to play in (or maybe host) (again): Pokemon Arrow (Athlai pls) Disney Mashup (seriously they own everything) Super Smash Bros League of Legends eSports (where we'd have people like Faker [LoL] being townies, Naniwa [SC2] being third party anti-heroes and flusha [CSGO] being villains)
Should probably have a "CricSim Mafia Series Two" mashup - taking the best characters from all the recent games - like Howe did once. That was a decent idea.
someone to run a digimon mafia. which reminds me, i need to start watching that new reboot of the series or whatever it is they've just released.
A dedicated CrimSim themed mafia has never got off the ground, would be harder than usual to set up but could be worth it.
CricSim mafia has been set up. Just like the real thing, there's always mutterings that it will start soon only to be ultimately disappointed.
Got 1,2,3 for 28CAD from EB games recycled. So excited to start it. You wanna run another one after I'm done Heef? :ninja:
Too much claiming isn't fun right? Maybe we can have a fixed number of claims that can be made per game. Exclude self claims. If the town is pressurising a mafia, he'd be tempted to come up with a good claim in order to waste the quota quicker. At the same time town would have to be cautious about wasting their quota. From town's perspective it's a bit like DRS.
I like role claiming. Smart maf can always claim vanilla or a weak role and escape suspicion. Character claims are tricky as they rely on theme knowledge, and are very risky. Also a sort of silver bullet for town - everyone mass claim roles, investigate/lynch double claims and obscure characters. I think themed games should provide maf with characters they can safely claim as. It takes that element out of the game.
I think the best way to do it (from my limited experience) is to allow everyone to claim as much as possible but to give mafia a tool to discourage claiming. For instance, if mafia know they can convert certain players if they find out who they are then claiming is a bad idea.
