I actually don't think it'll be as good as some are saying. The top two have been significantly better for a while now and I can't really see it changing unless they really get hammered by injuries. Chelsea and Man Utd look like they're going to invest well enough to pull away from the next group of Leicester, Wolves, Spurs etc. so I wouldn't be totally surprised if we had a top 4 that was set by the end of January. At the other end, I feel like there are so many teams that are would just be okay with staying up and excited to finish 12th that there will be some awfully inconsistent football. The transfer window is going to be all sorts of weird though, I feel like we'll get plenty of little moves and swaps but not too many big names moving. Plenty of clubs will be looking to their academies for backup players IMO.
To be clear I’m a Leeds fan. Comment is entirely biased. Agreed though top 2 only get stronger with the potential signings of Messi & Thiago. Chelsea seem to have done the most to bridge the gap, not so sure about Man Utd, they have been awfully quiet and seem to have squandered the Sancho deal (not that their front 3 are a weakness).
The Messi deal is ridiculous. Such a huge FU to Eufa from Man City you’ve almost just got to admire the balls of it
I can't even be made the way they tried to fuck with City specifically and ignore all the other clubs blatantly breaking FFP
Certainly will be interesting, dont think we can play a DvB, Pogba, Fernandes midfield in the premier league if we want to keep Rashford, Greenwood and Martial up top.
Yeh you’re only playing those 3 in midfield together if you’re trying to break down a side who’s just going to park the bus. De Beek for 40m @ 23yrs of age though is just really good business. Gives you good cover for Pogba who’s almost guaranteed to spend some part of this season out injured and rotation for Fernandes in a season where they’re back in the Champions League.
Looks like DVdB will be are only signing at present, we also haven't shipped enough of the deadwood out. Ran into (not literally) Diogo Dalot at the local Waitrose - seems like a nice guy.
As predicted awesome season! For a Leeds fan... Mid table finish, pushed all the top sides, did it with largely a bunch of no names and will press on next year with some more investment into the squad. Not sure I'll ever enjoy watching my own club as much as I do right now with Bielsa in charge. Anything on from the day he leaves will just be sub-par, super depressing thought.
