It would be impossible to be worse than Kevvie/Green. Him bringing Smith with him is smart. Lots of players rave about how smart Billy was to work with.

Man it's good when your team is having a good run. Been a while.

It's probably safe to say Broncos are a premiership force, and should be equal favorites for the title. Oates is nearing on immortal status.

Peta Hiku has got to be one of the more underrated players of his era.

Never seemed to settle at a club or a position but just has a lot of quality about everything he does. Very astute pick up by the Cowboys.

I've always liked him at centre. Keeping the flame a light for the Dean Whare/Paul Whatuira school of Centreology.

I can't pretend I'm not at least a little happy with the Cows sheer improvement. Did not expect this much of it. By no means will I get ahead of myself and call them like contenders or anything like it but to not just win but put decent scores on sides they either should be beating or were an outside chance I'm pretty pleased. Small part of me wants to believe they could really test Melbourne and Penrith the next 2 games.

My question over the Cowboys is whether they can break down the best defensive sides in the competition, I think there’s no doubting their ability to go set for set with the best in the comp. They make metres with ease consistently, they transition out of yardage into defence well and their goal line defence has been brilliant.

There’s a fair argument that they’ve had one of the easiest draws so far so their attacking numbers are a little padded out at the moment.

This article on their improvement is a good read though; https://www.rugbyleagueeyetest.com/...enslands-strong-start-to-the-2022-nrl-season/

Good read. Seems to highlight in 2022 their ability to hang in the grind has drastically improved. They would hang in early and drop off in games in 2020 and 2021 but this year they seem to have show much better defensive discipline over longer periods. To win any game by big margins let alone this many was intriguing to me also because even when they won games vs average teams the last 2-3 years it was never convincing. You're right to question if they can do the same attacking flair against the better defences but I do think it will do them good to have to have that test against the Storm and Panthers in next 2 games. Effort areas are the biggest improvement I've seen in them for years. Hope they can keep it going.

Drinkwater's try last night was ridiculous. The accuracy of that flick pass from metres over the sideline.

What's your best 1/6/7 in your opinion?

If this was about a month or so ago I might have said 1. Hammer, 6. Drinkwater, 7. Chad but I have to admit Dearden has gotten better especially when he runs it so I would have Drinkwater where he is and Dearden 6.

Pretty happy with that Barrett assessment

Gotta admit I didn't see the Dogs being so shit. I can't recall seeing such a lacklustre attack..

Fuck knows how their 2 wins came against the Cowboys and Roosters.

Maguire seems to have done enough for now though.

With Korisau & Papalii on the way and supposedly more money in the kitty to splash he would be spewing if he got the punt now. Hastings has proven a really good pick up so far, Naden is a bit of a punt but could turn out to be a good pickup.

Yeah bringing in Douihi, Hastings and Laurie have been good recruitment.

I think them having a shot a guys like Roberts was fair too. One thing I didn't understand is why they signed Peachey on a 2 year deal. I understood why they picked him up when he was unwanted by Titans and they had cap room, but why tie up for 2 years. Maybe it's an option in the clubs favour or something though.

Panthers Vs Cowboys tonight is hopefully a cracker. Real test for the Cowboys, not sure how much you can read in the Storm win given who they were missing.

Given how much they had to defend I can't fault NQ too heavily except the poor ball security. Just conceding 6 in the 2nd half to the premiers is a decent effort.

That was the best game Isucko has ever played for the Broncos
