You always shit on players that the Roosters want and don't get.

  2. Magic AJ Parker

That's kind of the problem though IMO. I think he takes too many carries in the back end of sets. He's a bit of a stats whore IMO.

His value to a team is his play 1 carries and he's been decent at that although has a tendency to get beaten up on early set carries against the better teams in the comp. Something I think he'll get better at over time, he's still a baby in prop years.

He also misses 2.1 tackles per game which is really poor for a middle forward and it's not like he's missing those because he's an aggressive defender, it's generally down to his lateral movement and speed.

Flegler out suspended this week I’d be moving Gillett into the middle. He just doesn’t offer as much out wide any more. Possibly defend him on the edge and swap with TPJ in attack.

  4. Alec AD Funkotron

Yeah, I think that's the best option.

  5. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

Would leave Glenn in the centres for the rest of the year. He’s better than all the other options.

  6. Alec AD Funkotron

Yeah, agreed with that too. Don't rate Shibasaki. Coates is still not quite ready. Farnworth probably not quite ready too.

    3. Glenn
    4. Staggs

    11. Fifita
    12. TPJ / Gillett
    13. Gillett / TPJ

The last 2 swapping in attack and defence.

Yeah, Shibasaki teased us when he contained Latrell for a match. He was atrocious from there though. Bombing tries, getting monstered in defence and attack. Siebs appears to like him however... It's rare I'm glad a bloke gets injured, but fmd he had to get pulled somehow.

I think we should hold onto Glenn for at least a season or 2. He's having a decent run and he has some utility too. But most importantly, we need veterans in the side.

  8. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

Nah Glenn can piss of unless he’s on a small deal.

  9. Alec AD Funkotron

I thought he'd be some numpty, but Rhys Kennedy has looked solid for a budget buy.
Carrigan has been killing it for the last few weeks, I think he'd be up for Origin next year. It won't be long until he surpasses Ofahengaue.
Milf has been looking more comfortable at fullback. Good to see his running game coming back.
Staggs has been looking really good on the right. Who plays there next year between him and Bird?
And who plays in the halves? Boyd will probably be there, but who partners him, SOS or Dearden? Maybe a chance of both playing together?

  10. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

    You overrate Carrigan.

    Milford
    Goates
    Boyd/Bird
    Staggs
    Kennar/Isucko
    Boyd/Bird
    Deardon

I've always thought Bird sucked at 6 but if it's ever going to work it's going to be with Milford at the back. They'd compliment each other really well. Shame you still don't really have a halfback though.

  12. Alec AD Funkotron

Yeah, it might be worth trying Bird there. He'd be better than Boyd, that's for sure.

    Cribbage likes this.

The Bird signing still baffles me to this day.

  14. Alec AD Funkotron

Bennett did a few baffling things before leaving. Re-signed McCullough on a long term deal with a player option for last year. Same with Boyd. Same with Gillett (AFTER getting injured). Almost feels like a cunt move.
But then he also helped sign Haas for 6 years, which at the moment is looking like a steal.

  15. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

The Haas deal is a Ponga level bargain.

  16. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

Team for next year I'm hoping for (Taking into account there is certain people that won't be dropped)

    1. Milford
    2. Goates
    3. Staggs
    4. Boyd
    5. Kennar
    6. Bird
    7. Dearden
    8. Lodge
    9. Turpin
    10. Haas
    11. Fifita
    12. TPJ
    13. Gillett

    14. Seggy/Macca
    15. Glenn
    16. Ofahengaue
    17. Flegler/Carrigan

    Few things on some of the players;

Carrigan is looking like he can turn into a very good lock in a few years time.
Gillett is finished on an edge, has to add a bit of size and turn into a middle if he wants to be effective.
Macca is just well below Turpin as a 9, and doesn't offer what Seggy can off the pine. Hopefully he finds a gig in England.
TPJ/Fifita pretty much need to be our edges while they play with the Broncos.
Haas needs to stop playing 70+ minutes while he has the shit in his game where pure laziness costs the teams points. That effort last night not trying to stop the ball was horrible.

  17. Alec AD Funkotron

I think Farnworth/Coates/Perese would be well ahead of Kennar in the pecking order. It'll definitely still be Isaako though, even though his defence is absolutely awful.

  18. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

They all need more time to develop. Kennar went really well this year before he got injured, and Siebold clearly loves him.

Isucko is simply not first grade standard. He is such a liability.

  19. Magic AJ Parker

Ponga is on a million a year isn't he?

  20. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

Pretty sure Ponga is on like $500k. He signed his deal while at Cowboys only having a few games on the wing.
