Its really quite simple, rusty, let me try explain. Each player gets a role. They are either town or mafia. (good or bad). The point of the game is for town to try to get rid of all mafia, and for mafia to try to outnumber town. Each day phase you have one vote and you use it to vote off who you think is part of the mafia. Whoever gets the most votes get voted off. In the night phase, mafia choose one player to kill. Certain players have additional roles that give them extra powers, usually used in the night phases. Basic ones include cop(chooses one player and finds out whether they're mafia or town) and doctor(chooses one player and that player cannot be killed in that night phase). There are additional powers, but epicmafia makes it easy - just hover over your role and it describes your power to you.

I'm going to register now. Is there anything that stops you saying your role like if you're a guy who can protect someone each night? Or would you not do it because then the mafia goes straight for you?
