That moment when you realise Australia's halves just got outplayed by Staggs/Lolohea

  2. Lukic L Popovic

Lolohea and BMM two of the greats

    So fucking happy for Tonga.

And even more happy that DCE, Munster & Mitchell were all shit

I just don't think Munster has evolved enough as a half and defenders are finding him predictable.

Don't get me wrong he's still an exceptional ball runner but his instinct is always to run first and create something off the back of his running game. He still really struggles with structure and pass selection and most sides seem to have figured that out now.

He looks really uncomfortable when trying to play a short side and the play more often that not breaks down immediately.

Latrell Mitchell is that bloke who knows exactly how good he is but hasn't realised yet that he's not in the juniors any more and can't just switch it on and off to cover himself when he fails on a low percentage play or gives an opposition attacker too much space.

I wonder if his development hasn't been stiffled by being in a very successful club side and never tasting any real failure to date. Still a lot of maturing for Mitchell to do, that kick off the ground is unforgivable at any level of the game letterlone on the international arena.

Yeah more than anything Munster still really sucks at first receiver. It becomes particularly obvious on short side plays he's both first receiver and the key ball player on those, but it's a general problem.

Is Fonua-Blake - Taukeiaho - Taumalolo the best middle third ever assembled by an international side?

I had a quick look and couldn't find a year in which Price - Civoncieva - Kennedy all played together.

It's interesting that getting dropped from the NSW team didn't give Mitchell the kick that he can't just coast along on raw talent. Will be interesting to see how Fittler approaches his selection next season given how critical of Mitchell he appeared after the game yesterday.

I think it just made him angry at Fittler tbh. Probably thinks he's racist or something.

What I actually hate most about Latrell isn't that he's lazy and makes dumb decisions but that he seems so fucking angry whenever he plays. When he scores he never gets up and celebrates like a normal person, he always looks like he wants to bash someone. It's more of a "YEAH FUCK YOU HATERZZZ" reaction than a "yessss get in!" one.

This may or may not make him a worse player - obviously the laziness and lack of game awareness are bigger problems on the actual rugby league front - but it does make me kinda hate him.

I honestly think Latrell has already peaked, he'll never reach Inglis peaks and he'll fade out like Inglis.. he'll still pull off highlight plays but as a general player I don't see him ever improving. He's already said he wants to retire at 30 so he has no motivation to be a GOAT.

Yeh I'm torn on it as a Roosters fan given he comes off contract at the end of the year.

I think he's worth the supposed 700k we offered him, 19 tries and 10 try assists as a centre is undeniable given he had a very up and down season. It's just concerning to hear that he's supposedly disappointed at the offer and wants to play more 5/8.

I just wonder how much baaggage the next few years of his career come with before he hopefully matures a little bit.

He definitely shouldn't be our next 5/8 And he definitely shouldn't be chewing up anywhere near a million in the centres.

As bad as Australia were, if Tedesco throws a decent pass, we probably win.

It definitely seemed like some Aussie players were thinking about their holidays.

I think there's a fair chance Mitchell could do a Jamie Lyon and just sod off rep footy at some point in the future.

This win shows exactly why we need a Four Nations tournament every second year at least. Tonga are now a tier 1 side.

A Kangaroo tour is ridiculous. Who's going to challenge them? Then the world cup in 2021 so it could be three years before we play Tonga again.
