I managed to finally break the bronze curse this season. I'm only silver 5 and not feeling too precious about my ranking, I'll duo bot with you sometime if you want. QT and Scarra tell me that the best way to climb is to realise that you are always the reason your team isn't winning. Play a lot, try to figure out what mistakes you are making and fix them, and you will get better and you will climb.
How did Zohaib play? Must have had 450+ ping. I could create an account on OCE or wherever you guys play and just play a mechanically-easy champ like Annie or Malphite I guess.
Anyone on here play anymore? I'm a support main and would be keen for a game sometime with any cricsim people. My name is Squilly D on OCE server
That's awesome. How was your experience there? Also, what team(s) do you follow? I used to be hardcore into the dota2 pro scene years ago but it's just trash tbh. I much prefer the LoL pro scene but I'm still undecided on which team(s) to follow because I'm still fairly new to it all. Is it normal to have a favourite from each region in LoL, or do people usually just support teams from their own region?
Really? I find it to be the other way round. Basically zero cross-regional tournaments, Korea is definitely the best region but gets put on a pedestal and treated as unbeatable, LCS is basically one big old boys club which isn't really that interesting to watch anyway. What ruined the dota scene for you?
Yea competitive LoL is not in a great state at the moment in terms of competitiveness between regions, though the actual game itself is holding up pretty well balance wise. International tournaments, when they happen, are rather one-sided. Though it can be interesting watching who is second-best. I find the regional stuff pretty interesting though, with various storylines between teams and more even skill levels. I don't really follow a particular team. When I first started watching I watched it for particular players, most of who were on TSM but nowadays they aren't really playing any more and I'm not really sure who I'd say my favourite players are any more.
The LCK final was pretty amazing, haven't been to anything like it before. Lots of cosplayers, light stickers, heaps of people really interested in the games so the stadium was really loud. Commentary was in Korean so I streamed the English stream on twitch and listened to the commentary that way haha. Atmosphere was great, production values were great, had a great time overall.
I just got sick of all the drama tbh. I also found the production quality of dota2 tournaments to be inferior to LoL. I can't speak for how it is now because I am not up to date, but at the time I stopped watching several pro teams couldn't keep a steady roster for very long so it was difficult for me to continue to support teams when the players I liked kept moving around.
Yeah I definitely agree with you on the point about the competitive scene. Korea, in particular SKT, are way too good. Even though they probably will win MSI I still like watching the other teams play too so I can try to become familiar with different teams and players. Still undecided on favourite players but SKT's jungler seems really good. I have a friend who is the adc on a team in OCE called Alpha Sydney but I don't think they're very successful. Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure at least one of their players got banned for some kind of behaviour which is frowned upon by Riot like boosting or account selling. Apparently that kind of stuff happens a lot lul.
