Just completely outplayed by Arsenal. They functioned better as a unit that we did. Young wasn't great but Darmian was especially poor. Let Sanchez get ahead of him in the first goal and then left him in acres of space for Walcott to find him for the third. Almost dispossessed Sanchez thereafter but you can't expect to leave him with that much space and freedom to cut in and not get punished. Then again, maybe Valencia wouldn't have done better.

Easy for us to say now he should have played Jones but after being out for so long, you don't want to throw him into our defence against Arsenal at the Emirates. Wouldn't exactly want him playing fullback either. Changing the CB pair for a tough game is also like playing with fire. Basically, we really fucking missed Luke Shaw. There is no real "solution" to our defence until Jones and Smalling can gel well together at CB and Blind moves to LB. I just don't think this was the game to try it.

Credit to Arsenal, they were brilliant.

It's really hard to analyse when we can't lay a glove on them for 6 minutes and go 2-0 with only 2 shots though. Arsenal were just perfect for 20 minutes and that was enough to kill the game off there and then. Young was way out of his depth with no support from Depay and Schweiny was given the run around by Santi because he got no support from Rooney, but apart from that you can't really criticise United just hold up your hands and say "fair play" to Arsenal imo. Then the game was gone

Fuck me....would be difficult for any team to come back from a 20 minute spell like that!

Then again, at least one of their players didn't score 5 against you....could have been worse.

Was just about to post that I'm so happy to see Schneiderlin start and he pops one in. WAG

Love Herrera!! Great ball from Rojo and good advantage played

Was so close to a big win as well but those two late West Ham goals crushed me. Had that game for a draw @3.75 on an accumulator :(

Yeah been following it in the Manchester Evening News for the last few weeks, genuinely brilliant response from Neville. Instantly said they could stay when told. Also in the last day or so he's kicked out the guy who's been causing trouble and stopping other homeless people coming in. Wouldn't surprise me if come February he's instrumental in finding some other accomodation for them rather than send them back to the streets.

One of my close mates played against United last night. So so good

Very interesting scenes tonight. Martial gets subbed to a resounding chorus of boos followed by a standing ovation and the Anthony Martial song. After that was possibly the loudest I've ever heard the Old Trafford crowd - seemingly every single person in the stadium singing "We're Man United, we want to attack!" and then the classic "Attack! Attack! Attack!". If we hadn't got the goal today I think it could have got very messy at full time which might have put alot of pressure on LvG. He almost seemed surprised when the way we played was praised by the interviewer on BT (before they fucked it all up).

Today was an improvement, and I think 4-4-2 with more natural width provided by someone like Lingard works alot better at home than 4-3-3. I'd be tempted to keep the latter in away games, but I would use Martial up top and consider moving Rooney to the bench - I am a big believer that impact players on the bench is critical for a title challenge and he'd certainly fit that bill away from home. Still a long long way to go though

LVG referring to Smalling as Mike again is bloody hilarious.

Can't see Rooney riding the pine though.
