He was poor tonight but that's for sure. He certainly should be expected to come good though. He was superb last year.
Except in the Four Nations. He was pretty crap there, and especially crap in the final. Was also crap in the Abo match.
Hunt and Thompson just made me pull my fucking hair out all night. Absolutely shit. They're not FG standard. Both sides need to do something about their three-quarter defence - Got raped tonight. I thought Hayne was right to call Gillett's try a double-movement. Either way, the Broncos got it back when Bowen's was disallowed too - Should've been BOTD IMO.
Not a second half point but at least for once the win came from very good defence. Not great in patches but significantly better.
It was good in the middle. Out wide it was pretty abysmal at times. Payne was still poor in defence in the second half I thought. He started well with some great technical shots but by his second stint he was dropping off everywhere. And some of the misses, like off a scrum, were disgraceful. First round, points are golden but they've got a lot to work on. The last tackle options were pathetic.
Broncs obviously missed Hannant and Hodges. They'll be better for the run though. Seriously starting to hate Wallace.
I expected it to be bad out wide with Bani and Graham out there. On your other post I just dont like there being many if any changes from a winning team, get rid of Bani and Graham but constantly switching halves isnt gonna do any good imo. Id like to see Morgan get a go but I wanna see Thompson at least try to show improvement against Newcastle. Thats just me though.
Very happy Thaiday won't be playing up front all year because FMD, he doesn't suit it at all. Thought Tamou off the bench was sensational. 9 runs for 95m. Cowboys did well to win without Bolton in the second 40 too. Forgot about that. Johnson, far and away the most tackles.
