Round 3 - Central Coast Bears vs Parramatta Eels

Simsational stuff this.

 

Welcome to the Rescheduled Round 3 clash between Central Coast Bears and the Parramatta Eels.

There has been a huge delay in the replay of this fixture due tyo the required upgrade of the stadium and also a huge epidemic of laziness within the workers

Bears Captain Benny Read wins the toss and tosses the ball to his Half Perry who kicks off.

 

Perry kicks off and he finds Reddy near his own line, who takes the ball up safely.

The Eels play a safe set around the ruck before M ortimer kicks from his own half and the ball is recovered deep by Hughes who unlocks the defense with a smart ball to James who carts the ball up.

 

2nd Min

Bears play out a grinding set of six with the backs getting involved with some hitups, Perry and Hunt got smashed in the process! Perry takes a kick from behind the 40 and it's sailing towards the sideline. That's bounced a whisker inside the touchline and heads out 30m from the Eels line.

 

2nd Min

Eels hit it up with Hindmarsh and he takes 10m, Mortimer gets the ball draws the defence of Gemmell and passes to Inu who uses some fancy footwork and dances around Simon laing before james comes up in cover defence to bring down the Eels flyer.

2nd Min

Keating throws a huge coutout pass to Grothe who's flying down the touchline! He busts the tackle of Rogers, then bumps into Perry ferociously and he discards the playmaker with ease, James is the last line of defence now! He runs staright over the top of the fullback and dives over in the corner what a play!

Burt lines the ball up and curls it around and through

3rd Minute

Eels are brimming with confidence here and they spin the ball wide to Burt who braks a tackle and makes 25m. Robson is trying to prise the defence open with some smart inside play here but the Bears defence of Gemmell, Read and O'Neill are too good. Hayne injects himself into the play on the 4th now, He tries to step inside Read who shoots out of the line, clearly pumped up, but trailing inside is Jacobs who absolutely nails the fullback, Hayne spills the ball and the smart hooker picks up the spilled ball, runs over the top of Mortimer and then evades Grothes diving effort and he's off!!!!!!! JACOBS! Can they catch him, too fast too good, Trytime!! He brings it under the sticks now.

Jacobs goes back and converts with ease

4th min

Bears feeling confident and they begin to play an expansive style here. Downpipes is playing like an extra 5/8th here, distributing with passes to Gemmell and then Hughes to get the boys forward. A Quick play the ball gives Pilgrim the upper hand on the defence and the big front rower heads for a gap and carves through making a big 30m charge here. The ball is spun to Fung who lets fly with a massive kick which rolls into the in goal area perfectly! The chase lacks effort though and the Eels get out.

 

5th min

Mortimer is having an absolute shocker here as he runs the ball and is whacked by Laing who causes the ball to come loose and it's cleaned up by the Bears. Jacobs passes directly to the Winger Rogers! he's in the clear and he dives for the corner! He's over but he fails to ground the ball, what's he doing? Hayne desperately comes across and forces him touch in goal!!!! Terrible work there.

 

6th Min

Hahah Perry taking some shocking punishment here! Rogers recovers the ball and passes to Perry who is absolutely hammered by Hindmarsh. Perry emerges from the play the ball complaining of a busted frenulum, that could require some serious massaging at Half time. Read takes a hitup and finds good elbows and Knees, Jacobs quickly hits Gemmell who carves through retreating defenders and crosses the 50 before Perry trailing the play gets thrown a hospital pass, but he gets up yet again!

 

6th Min

James takes a settling run before the ball is passed to Fung who goes to the line and toes the ball through! he's in front to get the ball! He slows to pick the ball up and is crunched from behind and loses the ball! Great play by Fung though!

 

7th Min

Keating is at the base of the ruck and passes back to Burt who drops the ball cold in goal!

Drop out now, the bears form up.

James takes the ball and combines nicely again with Hughes here, who passes to Hunt who has been quiet yet again tonight. Hughes gets the ball from Jacobs and he runs over Robson! He's brought down after 20m good work. Jacobs scoots and is monstered. O'Neill takes a hit up and runs strongly before losing the ball and the Eels clean it up.
