Christ, our scrum is getting absolutely monstered.

Yeah it's not good. Let's see us destroy in the 2nd half

Please tell me we are holding something back for the quarters onwards...

    ?

47-9 what's wrong with that. I only watched the 2nd half mind you. I take it we were scratchy initially

It could have been better... and tbf we scored a lot late in the game when they were a man down.

DC lucky to land well in that tackle too!

Terrible first half. Couldn't get hold of the ball and when we did the ruck speed was so slow due to the giant Tongan being over the ball and hard to move, shouldn't be such a problem against Ireland or France.

The second half we got some quick ball, DC started running a bit, got the likes of Barrett and SBW on for impact and we looked a lot better for it.

    Read's handling was shocking.

At least the All Blacks know what their best team is now. You guys have to pick Carter at 10, Skudder at 14 and you need to find a replacement for Woodcock. You definitely have the best bench in the competition as well. If your scrum holds up you are going to be tough to beat.

I find the criticism of the NZ performances a bit weird. Of the major contendors for the tournament going into it youd say were SA, Eng and Ire of which only SA have looked any good but only after being upset in their first game.

Outside of that only Australia have impressed but only against England. They failed to get a bonus point against Fiji remember.

At the end of the day the rest of the world has improved to the point where they can prevent the big teams being able to hammer them but not enough that they can challenge. This is exactly how i expected nz to go in their group tbh which was always going to be a cruise .

Saying that i do think theyll struggle in the quarter final just from their set piece but if they do go through then i expect them to make the final

It's hand wringing and it is not just Starris. There are many people on other rugby forums nit picking as well. The All Blacks have not bothered to put their foot on the accelerator just yet.

The other thing to remember about the All Blacks is that we are somewhat of a counter attacking team. We let you bring the game to us and then wait for you, inevitably to make a mistake like kicking it out on the full and then we pounce and are ruthless.
In games against lesser opposition we don't shine as much.

The only thing that did bother me from the game was that Naholo lost forward. That was unacceptable and shows he is a doofus.

Even though NMS committed a similar crime in a previous match. All of our wings trouble me.

Still you can't have stars in every position and at least NMS looked good today.

Charles is a great finisher but that's by the by.

Hey if we're playing possum that's fine.
If we're not it is worrying.

That said the only team I'm legitimately concerned about is Australia but then again if we have a bad day and someone else has a great day it's knock out from here.

NMS cemented his spot with that game. Naholo out IMO, risk didn't pay off not that it matters too much. Savea at 11 is a given now.

Naholo's dropped catch is not acceptable. Mind you I said the same thing after NMS goofed and he has made up for it.

It has been a while since I have seen any test match player drop those sorts of passes. We were watching one network news and the players were dropping passes left right and centre in a 3 minute training field clip. The handling needs to improve.

Yeah agreed, apart from that try Naholo scored against Georgia at the start he's offered nothing and seems to limp quite a bit still. NMS slotted into 11 well at the end there too. Savea at 11, NMS 14 for the play offs.

Read's handling was terrible today too.
