Canada are a completely different side to the one that got smashed by Ireland. Really strong set piece and they keep turning it over as well. These tries have come from just brilliant rugby
Parisse is just the method by which Italy win matches. Italy playing without Parisse aren't so much dire as completely robbed of what they need. It's like Lewis Hamilton racing without his car
They just never seem to improve. Bar Parisse they're all pretty average. Now teams behind them are starting to catch up.
Just watched the replay of this. Seeing some poor captaincy at this WC with Canada taking the points instead of going for the try in this match and not taking the points in the English game, hope McCaw is better. Canada had it all over them, should've put the scrum down and they probably would have scored off it. Canada were the better team for me and it's great to see Crowley having them playing beautiful running rugby. Unlucky not to win. Running rugby is the way forward and with the NZ coaches almost everywhere now more and more teams are catching on and starting to up their skill level. Italy will be rolled by the like of Japan, Canada and USA come next WC.
Poor Canada. I am a dual Canadian/New Zealand citizen. Hiroyama the 1st 5 is comfortably the worst 1st 5 in the tournament he lost us the game. Attrocious player. Our number 9 and his replacement scrum half were both decent and kept Canada in it. Our open side Moonlight was also budget and fell off tackles all night. Still that is Canadian rugby on display tonight. It is a very distinctive style of rugby that no one else plays. I can't really put my finger on how to describe it other than enterprising rugby. Perhaps more enterprising than anyone else in the world. You did yourselves proud Canucks. Better luck in the next match.
They did for a good 40 minutes in the middle. Game sort of petered out after that, even when Ireland had a bloke binned for the last 10. Italy couldn't get enough possession.
stupid line out choices from Italy. 3rd block and overshoot it a couple times Finally a gutsy performance and now we maybe can have a good open rugby against Romania (something I didn't see from Italy since 2010) Congrats Ireland for composure and to Sexton: he is finally becoming a complete N10 O'garaesque his control of the match, plus fine passing, running lines and defense approach
