Season 2 Final?

    Well, we're still waiting on the Season 2 final to be played and Eds has said that it would cost him $$$ in order to purchase the old sim programme, and then time and effort to re-enter everyone in the old database. This seems like a real waste of time to me, so we have two options for the S2 Final.

    (1) Use the new sim. This will mean that all players for the Vikings that haven't done a rego for the new sim would have to do a rego before this could happen. Plus, the new sim is different so the result may not be consistent with how things played out under the old sim. Also, a small amount of messing about with the squads to recreate the S2 Spartans and S2 Vikings would be required. Plus, the abilities would be based on current post ranks rather than S2 post ranks. Not ideal, but the only way it'll get simmed.

    (2) Forego the S2 final and move straight onto S3.

    (3) Irrelevant 3rd option.

    Got to do option 1, the rest of the season never matters come grand final day, if anything it'll add a bit of realism.

    1. But the final result should be declared null and void if the Vikings don't win it. Because we all know that is what was going to happen.

    Gotta finish it IMO, even if it's not consistent with the rest of the season.

    The other alternative is finding someone to spend 30 quid on the old simulator who isn't Eds. Probably not very likely to happen just to sim one match though.

    I voted 2 just because I feel like it would be too easy for the Spartans to win and I don't want people finding excuses about how we wouldn't have won under the old sim.

    I've got no idea about how closely matched the two teams would be, but I suspect the Spartans have been more active in the year and a bit this sim's been inactive and would have improved relative to the Vikings. Which wouldn't make it very representative of the S2 squads.

    Harsh in terms of Eds. He did a reasonable job and ran this sim for 2 seasons, with some issues obviously, but tbh nobody else built or spent money on a sim. The reason for s2 being left is completely different. The final would be unrepresentative of how it would have gone on the old sim, and I expect due to the vikings poor form when it comes to signing up etc, there will be a few players in there who aren't registered...

    Its been too long. I'm not fussed what happens in all honesty, I can't even remember who was in the Vikings and Spartans teams etc.

    Its mainly people from the teams that didnt make it wanting to skip it and its mainly people who would have been involved wanting it to be played.

    If you just skip it those people that would have been involved will hate obviously, but if you sim it then people involved are happy and people who arent are also happy to see some simmage. Win win.
