yup will do tonight, was super busy on the weekend and yesterday after work is Kovana allowed to play in the team?
Nah. Otherwise Irish/Scots would have been able to play for their respective teams. And to be fair to Kovana, his player wouldn't be of "international quality" in this yet, so he wouldn't be good enough to play for Samoa.
BOOOOO at the above comment. Anyways, regarding the team... if you havent finalized it yet Jabba. David Lemi for Tagicakibau. As for the forwards Would rather Mo Schwalger than Avei.. Only reason Mo isnt getting picked is due to pathetic political reasons.. But he is still eligible, and i reckon our strongest hooker. Census is more of a Loosehead prop for our team. Instead of Perenise, have Zak Taulafo. Daniel Leo at 4 And since Taiasina is hugely lacking form.. Im okay with Faifili at 8. Cheers. Thanks Jabba.
Right. All the players are added to the database. All I need to know now is some kind of quality rating for the players. I can do that myself, but it'd be good to have them listed in order of best player to worst player so we get some realistic comparability between players.
Leiua Tagicakibau Jack Lam Kahn Fotuali'i Tusi Pisi Mahonri Schwalger George Pisi Faifili Levave David Lemi Johnny Leota Ofisa Treviranus Census Johnston Paul Williams Jeremy Su'a Taiasina Tu'ifua Daniel Leo James So'oialo Fa'atiga Lemalu Sakaira Taulafo Anthony Perensise Ole Avei James Johnston Teofilo A.M. Paulo Definitely rate the backs better then the majority of the forwards
Really? I don't recall him playing for an NZ team at any point. Wouldn't have been U21s back in 2010 - he's 26 now I think. ITSTL.
Some sample matches to test: Samoa (22) Tries: David Lemi x 2, Fa'atiga Lemalu x 1 Penalties: Tusi Pisi x (1/5) Conversions: Tusi Pisi x (2/3) Ireland (16) Tries: Simon Zebo x 1 Penalties: Johnathan Sexton x (3/3) Conversions: Johnathan Sexton x (1/1) Ireland (35) Tries: Donnacha Ryan x 1, Conor Murray x 2, Simon Zebo x 1, Rob Kearney x 1 Penalties: Johnathan Sexton x (0/1) Conversions: Johnathan Sexton x (5/5) Samoa (13) Tries: Johnny Leota x 1 Penalties: Tusi Pisi x (2/4) Conversions: Tusi Pisi x (1/1) Samoa (18) Tries: Johnny Leota x 1, Tusi Pisi x 1 Penalties: Tusi Pisi x (2/3) Conversions: Tusi Pisi x (1/2) Ireland (22) Tries: Conor Murray x 1 Penalties: Johnathan Sexton x (5/8) Conversions: Johnathan Sexton x (1/1) Samoa (19) Tries: Alapati Leiua x 1, Sailosi Tagicakibau x 1, Johnny Leota x 1 Penalties: Tusi Pisi x (0/1) Conversions: Tusi Pisi x (2/3) Ireland (26) Tries: Johnathan Sexton x 1, Craig Gilroy x 1 Penalties: Johnathan Sexton x (4/5) Conversions: Johnathan Sexton x (2/2)
So, on that basis Ireland easily beat Samoa when playing at home, but find it a tough contest away - bearing in mind this is Ireland from 2 years ago, not current Ireland. Does that seem about right?
Probably got the balance about right then. Basically, I've got the best Samoan players being as good as the best Ireland/Scotland players, but I've also got the quality falling off a lot quicker - so Samoa's worst players are considerably worse than Ireland's worst. It should mean Samoa have some X Factor but can be beaten by solid play and a good performance.
I'd say Ireland should be much better than Samoa. Not sure how much Samoa's home advantage affects them though. I would also say though that keeping them close in ability is good for the enjoyment of the sim. Make them too easy and we'll just cream them
If Heef wants I could smash out an Aussie side and post it up on Saturday morning and a development/invitational team could take on Samoa
I don't mind. The Ireland results were 17 - 5 to SRC, 17 all and 26 - 21 to the SRC. So, we won the series 2 Nil, but it was pretty close. I'd expect us to beat Samoa 3 - 0 on that basis, but you never know. Especially if I make it an away tour to Samoa rather than a home series.
