I really don't think NSW need to change anything & nor should they for the sake of continuity because, outside of one half of footy where Qld had an 8-0 penalty count NSW have been very dominant but fuck it's hard to understand what people see in Dylan Edwards at this level when there's so many good options out there.

Connor Watson’s left to right pass looks like a girl playing mixed oztag for the first time. What’s doing there

I feel like NSW have this habit of picking players late, then hanging on to them too long.

I think they were a season or two late making the change to Edwards, and are now too reluctant to change just because a player is no longer in their prime, they instead wait for a big fuck up/shocking game.

I know theres been a few examples of this, Tariq Sims the most glaring that springs to mind. Shouldve been an easy pick back in his Cowboys days.

The answer to NSW's fullback spot has been right in front of us for years.

His service has been surprisingly decent all season for a part time dummy half but I think he overplayed his hand when he came. Obviously sent on to try and create something.

He has obvious utility value which makes him a good option at 14 but at this level unless Robson is injured or desperately needs a rest I'd just be giving him 20minutes as a roaming forward.

    Reserves;
    Walsh
    Kerr
    Hopgood

I find it hard to believe they would pick Tabuai-Fidow above Walsh?

Slater's logic must be that Hamiso has played good in previous origins therefore he's an 'origin player', completely ignoring the fact the guy is puss at kick returns which is vital in big games. Maybe Walsh is carrying an injury though.

Dunno if I've mentioned, but, fuck I hate Slater.

Am I the only one that just doesn't really see it with Max King? He's not especially bad, just doesn't really seem all that good.

Everything he is decent at, there are multiple props who are better than him at thing.

    Just NSW doing NSW things.

Will never understand why blues wingers have been rushing in for the last 20 years.

Bit of a clean out for nsw id say. Sack Laurie, Also think Yeo should be bench rather than start. Actually thought Cleary was solid first half, needs a creative 6 though.

Get these superstar centres more early good ball, piss off the weird inside ball around the ruck stuff. Get the props right, maybe api to start 9.

    QUEENSLAND SPIRIT!

No errors for 60 mins, kicked them to death, repeat efforts everywhere. Blues weren't allowed to play.

Luai has well and truly surpassed Pearce as the worst Origin player of all time. Besides having an ok short kicking game he’s absolutely useless. Tigers playing their best game of the year without him, while he ducks it for NSW, just sort of sums it up.

Klein useless again. Surely they stop selecting him for the top games.

Haas' injury made a huge difference imo, they had no punch in the middle. They played it right at the start going up through the mid with offloads, then after that they just did stupid slow inside balls then tried to spread it to their centre next play? who got rushed everytime.. oh except the one occassion where they both got tonnes of space which they're supposed to be guns at, and instead they just kicked it? lol. Angus Crichton and Martin should've been receiving 90% of the ball on the edges, instead it was the other way around. Cleary and Luai didn't adapt at all. Uitokamanu was decent for them though.

Qld were fantastic. Hard to believe how good they were in the nuts and bolts. Got better with every game. NSW peaked in Game 1 and went downhill. A lot of people owe Slater an apology. The call to drop your captain and halfback will go down as one of the greatest given how Tommy Dearden performed. Grant finally showing his ability as a starting 9 in the last two matches was super pleasing too.

The cherry on top was seeing the salty tears from the Sydney media (and a few on here) complaining about the penalty count in Game 2 after receiving nearly the same in Game 1 in their favour. Absolutely hilarious.

The penalty against Shibisaki for baulking, when he clearly looked at the ball and touched it is as bad as it gets. Touchies were atrocious too. At least 5 forward passes from NSW and a few from Qld too. They called 1 and missed about 8.

NSW need to heed Gould's advice about the coach being a standalone role. Its bullshit. With the talent they have in Cleary, Stuart, Webster, Bellamy, Robinson, Maguire and instead you opt for Fittler and Daley? Its an absurd policy. Canavan's report on the dynasty team with Meninga is so misguided. We won all those years because we had 4 or 5 immortals and half a dozen hall of famers. Not because Mal didnt coach club footy.

The fact that Fittler could've been Australian coach before turning it down, is an absolute disgrace.
