Nah no chance. He's a great player but has too many in front of him. Qld aren't overly partial to the Roosters imo. Certainly not as much as NSW.

Better question would be if Drinkwater played for Easts would he be the Blues fullback. He's clearly a better player now than Tedesco.

He would've been stuck behind Teddy for the last decade so I doubt it.

Nah if Drink played for the Roosters and Tedesco played for the Cowboys. He's obviously not gonna go to a club where they already have a top level fullback.

I don't think it's as much about an intrinsic bias towards certain clubs, as Wilson is implying. I think it's just harder to play well at a weaker club. If Tedesco hadn't backflipped on the Raiders, he probably wouldn't have played as many Origins either.

I honestly think as much as anything it's the time slots the games are held. I don't believe the media/rep coaches etc watch every game. They've got families, commitments etc. I bet they do all watch every Friday night games and the Sunday arvo footy, but wouldn't shock me if on a Saturday afternoon they've got work/media/family/corporate commiments and gigs all over the place.

I know Slater goes over every game with a fine tooth comb, but yeah that could well be true about Daley. He made some comment prior to game 1, dunno if it was tongue in cheek or serious, something about watching more Raiders games than other teams, I can't remember.

Fitting for Daley cause he now has the two biggest fluke series wins for NSW in the last 15 years. This year certainly has to go down as the most poorly selected, poorly coached win in a long time.

You'd think they'd record and watch them later, but some probably don't.

Big fella leads the league in try assists and is in position to win a Dally M and you originally compared him to Fogarty, Wowee.

I like Drinkwater and I've said multiple times previously that if NSW wanted a more natural short side, ball playing fullback then he was the obvious choice given Turbo's injuries but he's got a lot of errors in him and I think you're massively overrating his defensive capabilities. I think there's also every chance he could get found out at Origin level.

Where did I compare him to Fogarty? I praised him as the most improved and underrated half in the last few years
I get that 99% of your posts on here are talking up Sharks players (campaigning for Talakai for years was always good for a laugh) but in what world is Trindall getting picked at 6 over Munster or Dearden?

How am I "massively overrating" his defensive capabilities...I haven't even mentioned his defence. Last year I questioned his positional play in defence but that's about it.

Because the clear difference between he and Tedesco is their defensive capabilities. It's an assumption.

Let's assume I know what I think about his defence better than you do.

Tedesco is definitely a better defender, although his defence has been very mixed in Origin in recent years. To say, however, that is the major difference between them is obviously wrong. You just said as much in the previous post.

Tedesco is a run-first no.1 who spends the majority of the game in the midfield. Drinkwater is a passer who plays wider and is happy to use shape early in the tackle count and from his own end. He can actually ball play and his pass selection shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Tedesco.

Nobody is watching this series and concluding it was a good idea to bring him back. It would be generous to call his performances mediocre. I don't know why you're clinging to this.

Yeah that's not gonna happen either given how Walker and Dearden have played in the last two series.

Hence my question around if Trindall played for the Roosters.

Outside of goal kicking, I don’t think there’s anything that Walker does that Trindall doesn’t already do better.

In terms of Origin performance, his first two games were good, but in game 3 he was both cheeks and ass.

  16. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

He certainly had a poor game 3. Forwards were badly beaten but his kicking was dogshit. He is clearly one of our two best options at this stage though. He throws the cutout better than anyone . Trindall not being picked has nothing to do with playing for Cronulla imo. I wanna see how he goes in this finals series before I'd throw him a jumper but I could see him taking Munster's spot after retirement. I like his game.

You get so sidetracked, your point was that Drinkwater is a superior player to Tedesco. That's what I was arguing.

Not their playing styles, not his origin performances this year.

  18. Magic AJ Parker

Do you think Trindall is more creative and has a better short kicking game than Walker?

  19. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

You're in an Origin thread and the original point was would Drinkwater be playing Origin if he and Tedesco swapped clubs. Of course their playing styles and how one of them performed in Origin this year is relevant. You started talking about Drinkwater's defence when I hadn't even mentioned it.

You continually post asinine and evasive shit like this because of your reflexive need to defend Tedesco and other Roosters players, even when you haven't got a leg to stand on. It's tiresome.

I'm just talking about your claim that Drinkwater is a better player than Tedesco. Pop some ritalin and get back on track.
