    What did he say?

  2. GYR DW Lewis

    That's the summary of it

Well at least he realises it. They're supposed to have the best attack in the game.. they can structure any attacking set with so many plays.. 2 prop decoy out wide, short to Cordner or Guerra, develop any tiny bit of space on the previous play before spreading it to Sheck, Jennings or Ferguson, ball across the face to Moa, grubber to Jennings, kick for Tupou (and actually use tackle 4 to set up for it if nothing's happening). They never get settled and run through a proper attacking set, it's just frantic every play.

I get that feeling about him too. Watched him closely live a couple of times now - immense talent but he has a bit of diva about him. Needs a good kick up the arse now before the fame gets to his head and he does something stupid or just thinks its all going to be handed to him on a platter without any hard work.

There's no way this kid is going to be ready in time for first grade next year. He hasn't even played a minute of FG yet. I'm assuming we are going to sign someone in the interim....surely! We have Joe burgess coming but he's a winger right? Plus we haven't resigned Tupou yet either. Still flabbergasted we wasted money on SKD again

  6. Magic AJ Parker

Might get your first glimpse on the Weekend if the Roosters request for special consideration gets accepted

  7. Mr Chook MR Chook

On the wing instead of Elliot I'm assuming?

  8. Magic AJ Parker

Yeh he'll go onto the wing.

Wasn't considered for the NSW U18's team because apparently there's a pretty good chance he'll get the green light to play.

  9. Cribbage RG Cribb

Seems weird to name a would-be debutant as a smokescreen for another debutant though.

  10. Toolman TR Man

Could've swore I saw Elliot play last year, maybe I'm confusing it with the nines.

  11. Cribbage RG Cribb

Apparently you're right and he played one game last year. My bad.

  12. Julian BJ Taylor

Why on earth would the Roosters get dispensation to play a 17 year old when they have Nene McDonald and Brendan Elliot available.

Seems an absolute fucking pipe dream for mine.

  13. GYR DW Lewis

Yeah I agree with this. I still think it's a fucking potential nightmare to bank everything on this unproven kid who has barely finished puberty to slot straight into fullback for first grade with no contingencies. We need to sign a decent, more experienced fullback to play for two years and groom him into the role like we did with RTS.

    Agreed on that.

I'm talking short term though. Rules like this are in place not only to protect younger players but to ensure certain players do actually get a crack at NRL when the chance opens.

I don't think we'll sign a FB for 2016. Coach Robbo said on a Triple M interview a couple of weeks back he'll be looking at either Ferguson or Hastings at FB next year.

  16. Julian BJ Taylor

Ferguson there would be an epic mistake. He failed miserably when trialled there several times for Canberra. Just not suited to it at all. He is all about athleticism and strength and that strength, especially in defence, just doesn't happen at fullback.

Reckon Hastings should probably be given a crack if you're not bringing anyone in. I dare say you will sign someone cheapish to be a back up in case neither works though.

  17. Cribbage RG Cribb

    Maybe they'll just re-sign Stapleton. :p

Hastings will probably be in the halves if Maloney leaves. I reckon they'll straight up just try to play Mitchell at fullback. Not saying it'll work but I reckon they'll take the punt.

Cribb stole what I was going to say but that is silly as they are grooming Hastings to be in the halves. As of right now it doesn't look all that positive that Maloney will stay (which I honestly hope he doesn't) so we would have the same issue but in the halves. I certainly don't agree on Ferguson either.

If that's the case I would prefer that we sign someone like Munster for the long term tbh.

Agree with you both, just repeating what Robinson said, Mind you, that was said before DCE backflipped and now suddenly Maloney is the #1 candidate for the Titans.
