    Swap Hale and Rich then?

AFAIK Everitt doesn't have much track record as a key forward.

  6. HeathDavisSpeed HT Davis

I'll stick one of the James Gwilts in there instead then.

I reckon just put Hale on the bench and put one of those Gwilt's in for him.

  8. Skippos SM Morgan

Everitt's best as a running/lockdown small back or a tagger. Capable of playing everywhere but ruck though.

  9. HeathDavisSpeed HT Davis

Thinking that Coxy might need a rest at his age. Bring in a Gwilt for him too.

If you can imagine the ruckman tapping the ball in their direction, and that player being able to collect that ball in a heated contest and cleanly dispose of that ball to a team-mate, that's what you want. It's basically a midfielder with grunt / who is quick off the mark. If you're looking for stats to give you a fair indicator when looking up players, high averages for Clearances and Contested Possessions is the best indicator imo. Same thing applies to centres. You can probably read their effective disposal efficiency, too.

Problem with imagining Hale in that position is that, can you imagine that guy out-sprinting guys like Beams, Pendlebury, Ablett, or Dangerfield? He's a fantastic relief-ruckman and forward, though. Overhead mark is brilliant.

Not quite sure what I need now. Probably got enough talks - presumably a few more smells would be in order. Wouldn't mind another mid, but they seem in short supply right now. Probably a third ruckman wouldn't go amiss.

Add Moloney, Hampson, Baguley, Sutcliffe and Koby Stevens.

    Plus another couple of Gwilts.

You've made some really solid picks of late. Good work!

  14. HeathDavisSpeed HT Davis

Think I wasted a couple of picks early on in hindsight.

FB: James Gwilt - Ted Richards - Andrew Mackie
HB: Nick Haynes - Lachlan Keeffe - Matthew Jaensch
M: Pearce Hanley - Rory Sloane - Ben Cunnington
HF: Jamie Elliott - Andrejs Everitt - Chris Masten
FF: David Hale - Jack Riewoldt - Cameron Pedersen
R: Dean Cox - Daniel Rich - Stephen Coniglio

INT: James Gwilt, Jack Newnes, Marley Williams, James Gwilt, James Gwilt, Brent Moloney, Shaun Hampson, Mark Baguley, James Gwilt, Cameron Sutcliffe, Koby Stevens, Mark Hutchings

Can someone tell me what type of players I'm short of? I'm assuming that where I've got Andrejs Everitt isn't the best idea - so could do with someone to fill that role. At least I have a second backup for Coxy this season. Any suggestions are welcome.

Cameron Pedersen has played at CHF this season, otherwise I think that might be where I'm short. Then I could play Everitt at Back Pocket ahead of one of the Gwilts or HBF ahead of Haynes?

Drop Everitt and slot another Gwilt at CHF imo

  17. HeathDavisSpeed HT Davis

    Perhaps this?

FB: Andrejs Everitt - Ted Richards - Andrew Mackie
HB: Nick Haynes - Lachlan Keeffe - Matthew Jaensch
M: Pearce Hanley - Rory Sloane - Ben Cunnington
HF: Jamie Elliott - Cameron Pedersen - Chris Masten
FF: David Hale - Jack Riewoldt - Cameron Sutcliffe
R: Dean Cox - Daniel Rich - Stephen Coniglio

INT: James Gwilt, Jack Newnes, Marley Williams, James Gwilt, James Gwilt, Brent Moloney, Shaun Hampson, Mark Baguley, James Gwilt, Koby Stevens, Mark Hutchings

Not sure whether Coniglio necessarily deserves to be in there at the moment, and perhaps there's room for Baguley in the starting line-up?

You've got a lot of SDs, really. Haynes, Mackie, Jaensch, Hanley, Sutcliffe, Williams and Baguley are all starter quality SDs. I'd play Baguley over Everitt (though Everitt is a perfect Bench player as he can cover anywhere and play as your tagger which you don't really have). Newnes also should be on your bench.

FB: Mark Baguley - Ted Richards - Andrew Mackie
HB: Nick Haynes - Lachlan Keeffe - Matthew Jaensch
M: Pearce Hanley - Rory Sloane - Ben Cunnington
HF: Jamie Elliott - Cameron Pedersen - Chris Masten
FF: David Hale - Jack Riewoldt - forward which you trade in
R: Dean Cox - Daniel Rich - Stephen Coniglio

INT: Andrejs Everitt, Jack Newnes, Koby Stevens, Cam Sutcliffe (SUB)

James Gwilt, Marley Williams, James Gwilt, Brent Moloney, Shaun Hampson, Mark Hutchings

is probably what I'd have, though I'd definitely consider trading out 2 x SD for 1 x SF and a round 34 pick and moving Hanley back into defence too.

  19. HeathDavisSpeed HT Davis

Hanley back into defence? Isn't my weakness here a lack of quality midfielders? Wouldn't I be making that worse by moving Hanley back? Also, could Jaensch play forward? I guess he's been a much more successful player since the Crows have been playing him HBF.

So, perhaps Marley Williams on the trade block. He was a round 30 retention so must be worth a few bob. And of course a couple of Gwilts.
