Izett kills it after struggling big time against the Pandas last time around. And as always, it's that man Deen that takes us over the line. Used the deep ball well this game, which is good to see as he's been struggling from beyond the arc this season. A spirited 4th quarter performance and we owe that to our bench as they take a lot of pressure off our starters and make sure they have enough in them to go hard in the 4th. Sabres MVP: 3 - Marquis Deen 2 - Allan Izett 1 - Tom Delonge Marquis Deen - A nice little dub dub for the Sabres wing here. Him shooting well from beyond the arc will fill the Sabres with some hope as they haven't used the deep ball too well as a team despite having a few people who have the potential to shoot well. Another great all-around performance from Deen inspires another upset. Allan Izett - He got a surprising starting gig against the Pandas last time around and couldn't capitalise. That didn't stop him from delivering his best performance of the season when the two teams met again. Used the deep ball to great effect and did well on the boards. A very good performance from the bench. Tom Delonge - Delonge finally finding some form is a huge positive for the Sabres. They needed this from him. A very underrated performance by the big. Keeping Hunt to 41% is no easy task. Didn't let him dominate the boards either. Keeps up his two blocks per game average too. A very important performance. Cumulative: Marquis Deen - 17 Rob Cribb - 13 Clayton Evans - 8 Joshua Ritchie - 6 Paul Tazewell - 4 Tom Delonge - 3 Allan Izett - 2 Bill Kirk - 1
Thought Cribb's rating was a bit harsh here. Shooting 50%, no TO, 6 assists and a steal. Was trying to understand why I got 7.5 and Cribb 6.5. I guess the 6 steals came in pretty clutch.
According to this article a steal in the NBA is 9.1 times as hard for the rest of the team to account for then a point is. It's not without its flaws, but based on that you've effectively scored 54 points from steals in that game.
Sabres stats after Round 9 Had to post this after Delonge finally hit 7 MGR Deen is crazy though. 21-8-5.
So no one told you basketball was going to be this way Your shot is crap, your D is shit, you won't make the NBA. It's like you're always playing in second gear It hasn't been your quarter, your half, your game or even your year, but Ritchie plays like poo (When he takes the floor) Ritchie plays like poo (He'll never ever score) Ritchie plays like poo (Evans and Deen do too)
I'm 5'9" and can't shoot a basketball to save my life. I'm pretty sure I'm not the sort of bloke you'd want on your team.
