    Brasil Open: Singles, First Round

The first round of the first clay tournament of the season yielded some surprising results, many players not seeming to be very well versed on the surface. Big servers Jake Howe and Chad Dyer somehow making it through in straight sets. Howe defeated Henry Daman through sheer brutality, winning over half of his points by acing him. Dyer took out seeded Chris Raftery, who didn't manage to get a first serve in all match. There were calls of match fixing earlier on in the day, when doubles team Joshua Ritchie and Leumas Himann took to the court. Himann looked useless in the match, easily succumbing to a straight sets loss that seemed all the more suspicious after listening to the pre-match press conferences, where they "joked" about such antics. Also through is bottom ranked Charlie Downes, who will be no more after beating Samuel Vimes, who was level on points going into this week.

    Results
Matt James def Joy Wivillian 6-3, 6-2
Joshua Ritchie def Leumas Himann 6-0, 6-2
Brett Hall def by Kelvin Fung 2-6, 2-6
    Jake Howe def Henry Daman 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (9-7)
Chris Raftery def by Chad Dyer 3-6, 5-7
Samuel Vimes def by Charlie Downes 6-3, 4-6, 4-6
Samuel Yates def Marcuss Deane 6-3, 2-6, 8-6
Shane Masters def by Alistair Son 2-6, 1-6

Haha I actually won a singles match? Gun.

Seems it was more CPR playing badly than me being good, but I'll take it :ninja:
