Another thought I've had for next season, just to boost some club numbers. The Cnuts only have a 2nd XV (and in all likelihood will only have a 2nd XV team for some time). I was thinking that each Cnuts player could affiliate themselves with one or other of the main CricSim clubs, so that they have access to their club's subforum and would be eligible to play for that club's first XV. They wouldn't be eligible to play for that club's 2nd XV. It should help make each club slightly more active, plus allow greater integration of the Cnuts onto CricSim in general. The drawbacks would be: 1. That the Cnuts would have more activity options (but the affiliation could be ceased if this became an issue) 2. Cnuts players could get injured and they don't have much depth (on the flipside, they currently have someone on their bench who doesn't get much game time) 3. Cnuts players could get the benefit of playing both a first XV game and a second XV game in a single week.
Oh. Did I forget to say? They wouldn't affiliate to the Crabs. You'll have 30 players anyway, you won't need 'em.
Rather than shooting him, my unnamed team will welcome him with open arms and plenty of double entendres.
Another Suggestion: Cribb probably won't like it, but I might change the North/South game to be a pure Northern Hemisphere vs. Southern Hemisphere game. It'd reflect how Rugby works a lot better than the random North/South cut off and the Australian contingent are not as strong as they have been historically, so I'm not sure the NSW/QLD cut off is as relevant as it has been in the past.
Great we get the Saffers - excellent. Not sure who the English get except themselves though and Greater Britain and Vimes.
Yeah it doesn't really balance with the northern hemisphere essentially being GB plus France & Italy (of which there are no representatives here) in rugby terms. So really you're looking at the Lions versus the rest of the world
Interesting. I'm not sure it would make a big difference to North - most good Queensland players seem to be back-rowers, which happens to be GB's strength anyway. Cambridge would be tough to replace though. Edit: And Wheelson ofc
It's hard to think of India as a power player in international rugby, but there is at least one who could be starting for North.
Odval is from France and there's a decent number of Irish in the sim. You would also get Asia, which is obviously not a benefit in real rugby, but will be here. I actually think it would be more even than the current North/South split.
Yeah. I've only done it to keep consistent with CricSim in the past, but from a rugby standpoint NH vs. SH makes so much more sense.
