We're gonna waste Daine Laurie's career. Watch him win multiple dally Ms at the Roosters replacing Teddy in 3 years.

I said it last year and I reckon it’s probably even more true this year but there seems to be much less movement in the transfer market these days. Especially around big players, no one’s heading overseas or to Union and it’s rare to see star players looking for a move. May just be a coincidence of a quiet transfer year followed by a covid impacted one.

I thought at least the start of the year would at least spring some upsets as sides can start slowly and there was a much shorter off-season than usual. That hasn't happened at all, it's hard to think of any differences from last season so far. Maybe the Warriors are a little better? This isn't healthy for the future of the game.

Said it 10 years ago and believe it more with every passing year - Brett Morris is one of the greatest wingers to ever play the game. And I think even at 34 he's the top winger in the game today.

Not having him and Mitchell in the NSW back line is tragic for the Blues and a huge bonus for Qld.

I'd place him in the same echelon with Inglis as the best wingers of the modern era, above the likes of Sing, Tahu, Sailor, Tuqiri, Hayne, Ettingshausen, O'Connor, Boyd and Folau.

I've been saying this to my Tigers mates all season.

Given the Tigers are stuck with Brooks, I reckon there best off giving the 7 to Mbye, he at least forced a few drop outs last week, see if he can steer things a bit and pretty much just set Brooks up to run. Or axe Brooks and bring Madden in. They've been shuffling the same shit back and forth for a while now.

Axe Leilua and stick Douhi in the centres. Could be an idea to have Nofo outside Douhi so he gets some ball rather than Roberts

It depends how you judge it. If you were asked to pick a 17 of all time players to play for your life, Morris doesn't make the side. I'd take Inglis, Folau, Sailor and Tuqiri ahead of him.

Based off his career and longevity, he's probably first winger picked.

Nah, I'd pick Morris to play for my life.

    Depends what the cause is.

I don’t believe the volatile and cyclical nature of the competition was particularly healthy either, it rewarded a lot of short term thinking and on the run planning where we saw a lot of clubs get into a lot of trouble by back ending contracts, making rushed signings on the back of form or flashes of brilliance, clubs rarely building a squad with more than an eye to the next 2-3years & a lot of panic buying where lesser clubs felt pressured to sign ‘marquee’ players to keep up with the rest of the competition.

I wonder if players these days don’t care about money as much as the previous generation, the money is already at such a good level these days that outside competitions are no threat and their salary to cost of living is already so much greater than previous generations it surely has to be less of a motivating factor in their decisions. Top players seem to aggravate moves for legacy reasons; the desire to win a comp, improve their game or get a chance in a more highly regarded position.

The new salary cap on football department spending is a big equaliser so if it forces clubs to put long term strategic plans in place around talent development, pathways & squad building I think it could be a good thing but undoubtedly it will result in a competition with less change year on year.

Round 3 is shaping up as a really interesting round of footy. A bit going on in every game.

Shame there’s so many notable outs in tomorrow nights game, would’ve been good to see Penrith and Storm go at it without Smith playing a part.

Thats still going to happen, mate.

  13. Magic AJ Parker

A hampered Penrith and Melbourne both missing two key spine players.

Very hard to find a bet on this game, just so up in the air with the misses. Going To’o or Chrichton to score a try.

    Fuck Munster is a weapon.

  16. Sultan Pepper HG Emm

Liking Leniu. Don't like that they've put May on already, especially while Eisenhuth is there.

    Munster is so good

  17. Sultan Pepper HG Emm

And now Eisenhuth is the only prop out there

  18. Sultan Pepper HG Emm

Fuck that scrum was dumb and not challenging the knock on before it.

And think they're making a mistake not putting Staines at the back, may to centre

What a finish. Olam shouldve passed. Kikau what an effort.

  20. Alex AJ O'Driscoll

Melbourne will be so good when they get a proper hooker back.
