If the best 4 or 5 bowlers in cricsim were all pace bowlers would you play them all on a neutral pitch?
Why saying just 2? You said it doesn't matter what they bowl it just matters how good they are ranked. What about have a 5 pronged spin attack. !
That's not the argument though... the argument is that there's no real difference between playing 3 fasties and 2 spinners or 4 fasties and 2 spinners, and if there is a difference, it's in favour of 2 spinners. So if the current makeup of the team was 3 fasties and a spinner, surely you'd take the better player out of the spinner and fastie left.
Basically boob it is playing warne and macgill at sydney. Obviously If it was at perth it would be different, but because there is a bit there for pace and spin then we will go with the two spinners instead of the more pace heavy attack.
Basically it is the following. Ged- Naming a lineup that will allow him to play an extra rep game Steve- Defending his teams captain Ava- Doing his usual thing and trying to be noticed by disagreeing with me Me- Naming a proper lineup with no bias.
Yeh, and really playing 2 spinners isnt a bad thing. The test team will have 2 spinners. The fact that Ged > Funkotron warrants his place. Exactly. Now bow.
Ged is arguably a better bowler than Choco, but that ain't getting him in the test side. And there is a big difference between picking Wilson and Ged than Wilson and Speirs.
No there isn't. Spierz is the 5th bowler in the Test side, in as an allrounder. If Spierz was eligible for QLD Denoshire and Ged would drop out, Spierz would bowl as the 2nd spinner, and funkotron as the 3rd seamer. Still the same team balance.
You can't call Speirz a second spinner as he would bowl **** all, possibly get 15 overs and that's all you need from a backup 5th or 6th option. 2 specialist spinners should never happen in rep cricsim.
I think he'd bowl more than that tbh. He bowled >250 overs in the BS last season averaging 26. Underrated bowler.
Even so. I dont think teams using 2 spinners is a bad thing. Don't know what the difference is ont he sim, but one is an offie, and one is a leggie. So there is still variation in there.
