If I was just a casual observer of this comp, the ravens would easily be my fav team. So many qlders in it now.
Yeah, it's easy to bemoan the scoring rate, but when you're 3/30 or whatever it was, the priority is making sure you see off the good bowling, put together a good partnership and at least bat out the 50 to give your bowlers something to bowl at. The problem was the loss of early wickets more than the scoring rate after that - the former caused the latter.
Thats been our problem this season though, we havent built up partnerships., and on the rare occasion we have, our bowling then goes and fails. Cant get everything working together.
Yeah, I agree, you've been terrible. I don't think the scoring rate is the problem though - it's the inability to build partnerships at the top of the order. You're losing quick wickets at the top and then everyone in the middle (except Luffers ) is getting slow starts before throwing it away as soon as a partnership looks like developing.
Awesome win. I'm sure Manero would be a bit annoyed that he couldn't get the not out, but it was still great stuff from him and McNeill to make sure we chased down the target fairly comfortably. It's also good to see we've uncovered a new bowling option in McNeill.
Its so frustating though because on paper we're not that bad... Erschoff was the best batsman in the PC last season... wheres that gone? Boland just hasnt got any runs at all, and Delong and Gee should be doing much better. Our bowling isnt much better either, wer letting their batsmen get big partnerships and kill the game off.
