It's true though. How many times do you need to be penalised in one half of football to go to the bin? Three strikes you're out afaic. Anything beyond two is beyond the point of coincidental. And it's plain as day that it's a deliberate effort on his part to crowd the ball carrier.
If that was the refs helping they did an average job. JWH needs to be given a send off, he's the dirtiest cunt in the game.
Thought Te'o's game tonight was a lot like his effort in Origin. I don't rate the bloke that highly but man when he just runs straight and hard, he's a quality player. Made a huge difference tonight. Was breaking tackles and smashing blokes all over the place. Very handy to be getting him back at this time of year.
Well, been saying for a while now that I think it's Souths's year. They're still a bit soft through the middle and they don't have quick enough line speed at times but their defence, which has for the longest time been their Achilles heel - the thing standing in the way of a premiership - it has dramatically improved. Their sets inside the Roosters half were just outstanding. They bashed them all over the place. Early on the Chooks had a good roll but after a succession of fairly blatant penalties, it was all Souths. One way traffic. I don't think the scoreline was very representative of how much better they were.
Had a bit of a chuckle about Minichiello saying they pride themselves on their second halves. They haven't won one in their last 4 games. And been pretty badly outscored. Before this game they averaged 9 scored and 16.3 against. They scored 10 tonight and had 20 put on them. Could've been a bit worse too if Souths didn't shut up shop with 5 to go. Then again, at 32-12 you know you're in the GF, it's only natural. That's why I didn't get McGuire going off his tits about the game against Manly. Yeah, it's not desirable to let in 24 late in the match but you're 40-0 up. It is not humanely possible to play as if it's 0-0. You simply cannot play with the same attitude towards that scoreline as you do at the first kick-off of the match. Anyway, if those two late tries help get them up for the GF, it may be a blessing in disguise.
Big respect to Minichiello. Cunt was a hack in his later years (and some might say for all of his career) but he did some very good things tonight. And was a great club man who also played some great games for NSW and Australia. Well done.
Yep. Could it be more obvious that there's no such thing as a flop any more? That was so blatant. Te'o gets pinged for picking Maloney up after a hand has been put on him, which is fair enough. But you have to be consistent. If that's a second effort then wtf is Maloney's?
Nah, he's a good player. Not as good as some think and he did have an off night with the ball, but he's quality. I don't think he receives anything like the sort of undue praise that a player like Tony Williams does.
I've seen one flop called the whole of 2014. You get a penalty for touching the ball after the tackle, but flop on 5 seconds late and it's fine.
