Gillett was good, especially when making 1st contact in defence. But you're right, Boyd was best on ground.
Gagai, despite making a few errors did great work shutting down plays and while getting out of our own end.
Try watching it again after a couple days ....maybe when your tears have dried. A lot of heavy contact.....might have been an arm wrestle, but still the pinnacle of RL standard so far from what we've seen this year, outside of the Cowboys V Broncos games. Classic SOO for mine .....
Even when we won it was the same - nothing to do with winning or losing. Every year I try to get into it, but the 90% of game time being guys having a slap and tickle on the ground just annoys the fuck out of me - rather watch Newcastle play.
Fuck Jennings is a hog. A few times in the first half a quick catch and pass and Mansour would be away. Then in the second half he gets the ball on the outside of his defender and he cuts back in instead of drawing the winger and passing.
Can't be too critical on our attack as the speed of the play the ball was rubbish. One quick play the ball in the attacking zone and we scored off've it.
Boyd was the best on ground for mine. Thurston looked good when he started taking control. His kicking game won the game for us in the end. Thought the NSW try was a forward pass tbh.
