    Some good covid news for once:

    NRL referee Gerrard Sutton has tested negative to coronavirus but is set to miss the next two weeks of play as he prepares to self-isolate.

    Sutton has a child who attends Camden High School, where a positive test was recorded this week.

    This next match is going to be "interesting".
    If Brisbane fuck this up the media will tear them a new asshole.
    I will be watching, can't wait.
    One thing in Brisbane's favour is the coach has dumped Isaako. That will help Broncos significantly. Oh no, just noticed he is on the bench and may get minutes.

    6) Ben Hunt (He is good but dollar value isn't there)

    10) Briton Nikora (I don't hate him just think he has been figured out and now offers nothing)

    How bizarre was Fotuaika getting sin binned too, that was only the Gold Coast’s 4th penalty in 37 minutes. That’s the first time I’ve ever seen a professional foul like that called. Not like Brisbane had them short after they had broken them open or anything. The line was pretty much set the tackle prior.

    Really poor read from the ref there IMO.

    Some cynical cunts like me reckon refs like to give the losing team at half time every chance of getting back into the game, why I am not sure...maybe just so they can't blame the ref for the loss.

    6 of the 7 penalties since the sin bin have gone the way of the Broncos...

    I’m a little less cynical, he just looks clueless. That Luke knock on where he ruled Wallace not square was a really bad call.

    I am an expert on referee conspiracy theories...one day on a slow night will post some articles by PHDs with their doctorates in "sports psychology" that seem to confirm some trends exist namely home town gets the rub of the green on 50 50 ref calls.

    In cricket, which I know a bit more about, bottom feeder teams get poorer calls. I see some of that in the NRL too eg Titans in particular get the worst calls out of any team whenever I watch them.

    I think the club have fallen for his “rebuilding” plan. I can see him lasting the season out and being there at the start of next year.

    So much will depend on whether they can convince David Fifita & Dearden to hang around though I imagine. If both were to leave his argument for a squad overhaul with youth falls a little flat.

    Brisbane are guaranteed to win next week as playing the Warriors. Our boys have lost our rudder since losing SK. We may recover but will need 3-4 games to recalibrate ourselves. If Brisbane can't win next week against a homesick Warriors that is feeling upset at SK's sacking then there should be a royal commission inquiry.
