Why exactly? IMO it's hardly fair to call it after the regular season, because teams don't play each other evenly home and away. And we can't really afford to make it a shorter season development-wise, nor can we extend it into league and AFL seasons.
There is no promotion/relegation. There are no conferences like American sports. You play each team half a dozen times in the regular season. Teams with a losing record can easily make the playoffs. If you want more fixtures bring in a cup competition which also has the added benefit of giving state teams more exposure.
Yeh, hate it. Don't like the Roars chances, been far too inconsistent this season. Would love to see WSW win it if we can't (taking an anyone but CCM/Victory approach really)
