    I was going to say something about not having Ablett above him as crazy, but thinking about it Judd is the only guy who you could argue is better post 2000. I always looked at Ablett's longevity at the top, but Judd was great from 2004-2012 really - that's almost a decade of sustained excellence. Ablett the same from 2007-2014/2015 depending on his return. Judd was more effective with the ball around the ground, but Ablett's ability to accumulate and then use it well probably made them both equals at their peaks as ballwinners. Personally I think Ablett's the better player due to his goalkicking ability being far above that of Judd's on a consistent basis, but both phenomenal clearance players and run and carry guys.

    Yeah look my definition of best is purely 'at their best' - the best remain there consistently enough.

    Ablett's had the better career. He'll be rightfully remembered as better.

    But I've never seen anything like Judd betwee '04 and '06. Incredible.

    Ablett is a freak too but Judd's burst, power and evasion at top speed was just something else.

    I'll always remember Judd as an Eagle personally because of how good he was, but I think Ablett's been the best player in the comp for 7 years so that puts him over Judd. At their very best I'd have them level because Judd did kick goals with the Weagles.
