I've already asked you this but you kinda ignored me... form and luck is a factor in this, right? I mean it's not like it's just some mathematical formula that gives the stats placed in the right positions the win everytime.. or does it?
Luck would be easy to code. Just multiply all the calculations by a random number between 0 and 1 or something (maybe not that extreme).
Yeah there's definitely form and luck. If I simmed the same game twice with the same lineups I wouldn't get the same result - that'd just be retarded.
Yeah, for a simple explanation, I'll use a prop taking a hit-up. I'll ignore the effect of the defence, momentum etc for a simplicity's sake but they'd obviously factor too. Say a prop has 10 fit tight running. A random number will be generated, and he'll make somewhere between 8 and 12 metres on that run by himself. Of course, the ratings of the defence, the momentum of the team as the organisational rating of whoever passed him the ball will change that number.. but that's where it starts.
Organising half's going to be a position hard to quantify with stats tbh because its main role is to help the forwards make more ground up the field. I might add an "metre assists" stat or something so you can see the effect better.
Thats a major reason why I wasnt 100% keen on becoming and organising half. I was scared id miss out on rep sides etc because there is no stat to show how good of an organising half you are. It something you pick up watching the game in real life. I was worried they'd go creative and balanced, because balanced would have solid stats in both sides of the game. Metres assists would be gun.
