You are meant to be a reserve grade side, so it should be as much about your parent clubs back-up players getting some game time as you having a good side IMO.

  2. Cevno IV Narang

Even if 8 players are drafted most likely they will all not play.

Need backup for first team injuries and change in combination due to trades.

  3. Phlegm SP Phlegm

Aiden Blizzard is Australian and will likely have a simming average very close to his FC average, if not better considering this is not CPL.

And taking away Bracewell from my group, there are four good reserves and two meh ones. El Nino's are even better.

Look, you do not need 22 players for a reserve grade comp. If you need 22 players to be remotely competitive and balanced, you drafted crap and I'd fire you. If your guy above you picked seven hopeless shit cunts and you can't handle managing some crap to score a side next season, you should have thought of that before signing with that bloke.

How many of the 22 will actually play a game? How many will play more than two? It's overkill. You're in charge of a second XI plus a few other guys, not an independent franchise where we've given you our players from the goodness of our hearts.

Looking at the Triads I think Chewie has done an excellent job in rounding out the squad nicely. I think he managed it by around pick 4. He's bloody brilliant.

If reserve grade has squads of 21/22 each, that makes a total of 44 players per conglomerate squad. 44 players for 33 spots. 11 guys sitting around on their arses doing nothing, a few of whom CPL owners might desperately need if their batsmen do an NZ/their bowlers get shot in the face.

    Phlegm RAGE!

  5. Shri G Shriram

Agree with Flem. Do your best with what you are given, this is being done for a purpose more than just fun. Its also a sort of test to see which one of you cunts would be better at running your own team next season.

  6. Number 11 CJ Downes

I just want to draft a back-up Keeper TBH.

  7. Phlegm SP Phlegm

    @ Mike

Haha actually it was a bit. I don't think Cevno quite deserved that.

  8. Chewie JA Chewie

I didn't actually sign in though :/ It's really weird, cos that was at like 6am here. I was going to pick Gillespie anyway though so it didn't matter too much in the end but I came online and was like WTF people have picked past me

And thanks Phlegm for those compliments :p

The only problem I see with smaller sides is if our parents side get heaps of injuries which screws up our balance.

  9. Cevno IV Narang

    Not sure about that.
Many Australian batsman have been shit so far.Besides i have already drafted him out of the team

I was not talking about your reserves though.
You two have a good bunch, but as Chewie said himsef he is worried about El Nino's retired bowlers.

Since i was caretaker manager of Tunza for a month ,I did not have a option even with their shit reserves.

Chewie only needed 4 players though at most.

All my 6 are walking into my team.

I am happy with my team as it is ,just worried about balance in case of trades and injuries as the backup is shit.

If they are good enough players for the first division teams they should really be starting in any case over a pick that is 80 picks atleast after them and since they will most likely be 13th or 14th picks.
That will make them about 200 picks before the bloke drafted in this draft.

And if they still cannot start ,then merit should be rewarded....

    Btw,you seem angry:p

If it means so much,i am fine with 6 picks.

Is Barney Gibson better than Ruan Petersen?

  11. Cevno IV Narang

    I would guess so,marginally.

  12. Mike ML Martyn

That last part actually made some sense Cevno. If they aren't good enough to beat out the draft picks then wtf are they going to down in the first team lol.

  13. 99* JJ Ritchie

After something like round 14 some people would have just picked random names from their domestic side.

    Hence, Raval.

  14. Mike ML Martyn

    lol @ Raval

Cevno what is the team lineup? Our bowling was strong before you even made 1 pick and now you've added 3 more bowlers :o

  16. Cevno IV Narang

    2 more bowlers.Yadav is a all rounder.

    This the team lineup -

    Hinds
    Papps
    Ganga
    De Saram
    Symonds/lynn
    Luke Ronchi/Guptil @ 3
    Iqbal Abdullah
    Sammy/JP Yadav
    Samiullah Khan Niazi/Sadaf Hussain
    James Harris
    Aizaz Cheema

I had to add the bowlers because of injuries and the fact that you keep trading them.:p

Plus Kulkarni and Noffke are both shit bowlers and if a couple of your bowlers get injured with no backup this team would be screwed.

Atleast there are The likes of Finch,Maddinson to backup the batting.

The Australian batsmen being shit thing is due to form. Australians potential in this isn't far off test level since they have a very strong domestic competition. Blizzard should average over 30 if he was picked in CPL since CPL is a good FC competition rather than test standard. This competition is probably English second division or NZ/WI FC standard at most. Blizzard should be fine.

You took over Tunza with the knowledge of what Boobidy had done with the team (I hope). You're doing a good job with it, but I don't think you *should* need 22 members in your squad. It sounds like you have one of the weaker reserve teams. Well, shit happens.

You're not running your own club yet, you're managing a conglomerate second eleven. The draft was to round off the edges of the squad, not to find eight or nine randoms to replace the players we need to play some cricket, regardless of their quality. If your new players are better than the ones you inherited, then I sympathize, because your feeder club(s) are run by an idiot and your drafting skills are very good.

However, this competition is designed to give CPL reserves game time. That is its primary function. I'm sorry if your feeder players suck, but that's the way it is. As I said, I don't expect all seven of my players to get much if any reserve grade time (if Bracewell plays reserve grade then I've obviously conceded 900 to Shri and shot the lot of them), but CPL owners took you guys on in the understanding our players would see some game time.

You're making more of a big deal out of trades than its worth imo. If the reserve grade side is so horrifically imbalanced by trades that a 15-18 man squad can't cover them, then one of the feeder clubs has lost the plot and likely has a massive squad imbalance themselves. I try to keep some relative balance while trading, and I imagine most CPL owners are the same.

I find it unlikely injuries will devastate reserve grade as well. I'm teamed up with Nino, and we were able to make a rough draft of a reasonable side while his dudes were out injured.

I was thinking of you when I wrote "most." :p
