So is someone going to rate the teams in this thread or not? Have to say rating the second teams is harder to do .
No, if anything, it looks as if I should make not playing your picks compulsory, judging by the teams that are named here. CFD managers as a whole seem to have vastly over-rated their own picks while leaving out far better players. You do have to keep in mind that all the first grade players were picked before the guys you picked, and that the competition has been designed to give them meaningful matches, and not to let you flex your muscles. In instances where CPL players were picked for the future it's not really necessary to play them, but Prasanna and Hoggard for example should definitely be playing ahead of Mushtaq and Edwards.
Giving Hints? Tbf ,many of the first teams are playing some players worse than those they have in the reserves. Isn't it part of the management process and what makes it fun?
Yeah no doubt, but I just think that, overall, CFD managers are over-rating their own picks. Especially given that they've picked shunts in many cases.
I am finding this more fun than say managing Tunza ,where i have been given a set of players drafted by someone else and i have to name a lineup which is almost pretty clear except for one or two changes here and there. This would become the same if we had no input and were again given some players picked by others and told to pick a lineup from it ,when pretty much it would be clear except one or 2 changes. Though that is not a problem for me with the teams i have got reserves from,it could be a problem for some. There will always be a sense of wanting to play your own picks at the start atleast until the Shunts get sorted out.
TBh Edwards should be rated higher than Hoggard , I know Hoggard is playing FC cricket but doesnt age also have a factor on the players averages?
Age is irrelevant. If he's still performing in First Class cricket (and he is) he'll be fine here too. You inherited a team that was very hard to improve and you only signed one or two players who would do such a thing.
Has Edwards seen his whites in the last two years? He'll never reach 150 test wickets. Hoggard>>>>than someone who hasn't played due to injury
