Any Scottish players in other systems who don't play for Scotland? Or is the Scottish Intercontinental Cup team pretty much 'it'?

Even today at the age of 60-odd, Mike Denness would be Scotland's best batsman.

McCallum is actually not that bad tbh. :p

Navdeep Poonia plays for Warwickshire, but doesn't feature much for Scotland. Colin Smith is better than Maiden. Qasim Sheikh didn't feature in the final either but IMO is one of the better Scottish players. John Blain plays at Yorkshire but fell out with the Scotland coaching staff.

Other than that I think that is it.

Dougie Brown may actually be better than some of the current player despite being retired for a couple of seasons now.

  6. Cribbage RG Cribb

Yeah I've got Smith and Sheikh. Had forgotten about Poonia though.

  7. Cribbage RG Cribb

    Zimbabwe 216
    Banglades 215
    Ireland 212
    Scotland 162

He'd probably still make the side as an allrounder, but he's no longer one of your best seven batsmen, believe it or not. :p

Morgan, Joyce, Porterfield and O'Brien will be the big difference. The fact that we onyl have Coetzer who is a genuine county player shows.

Netherlands should have a decent batting line up with Kervezee, Cooper and Tendo.

EDIT: Ignore me, as I presume Tendo and Cooper don't count anyway.

Due to weight averages Nannes should be in the top 7 batsmen :p (I know he doesn't qualify for Dutch Origin)

Even with those 3 I would only expect them to score about 180ish. The Dutch don't tend to do as well in the longer stuff.

Kervezee's status is intriguing as well. He was born in South Africa, in a part of the country that is now Namibia, plays for Worcestershire and represents Netherlands in the IC. I do believe he actually played proper club cricket in Holland though and made his First Class debut for them at a stupidly young age, so if I had to guess I'd say he was legit.

RTD and Cooper wouldn't count though, indeed. Neither would Borren who they pick from time to time, and possibly a couple of others.

Borren. Wouldn't mind him playing for NZ right now...

It would take too long to work out the best 7 Dutch batsmen IMO.

Take that game, half their team is Saffers. It is like an England game.

What would a 'Best Of' batting line up for Associate cricket come out like? Not sure who'd be in there for sure, but Porterfield, Joyce, Tendo, Mohammad Shahzad and Mohammad Nabi should be in there. Cooper, Klokker, Obanda and Tikolo might be fighting for the remaining slots.

  18. El Nino J Torres

Two words that don't exist in the Cribb lexicon.

Should just host a cricsim world cup and be done with it.:p

I was hoping it was just "Rest of" not anything that rhymes with "Rest of" as well!
