I have a question for you, Mark arse. If I want to keep Davies, does he go down as the round he was drafted into the comp or the round that I picked up Yuvraj, who I then drafted for him. Should be the latter imo.
Can't post the order until people decide who they're releasing. The order depends on that, to a very large extent.
Yeah. That's what I was thinking. I reckon that I'm in a pretty good position here. My picks were all pretty obvious. Ashwell Prince and Rogers and Husse yare all pretty comparable imo but Prince has probably performed the worst of the last 12 months and was a 3rd rd pick rather than a 6th and 7th. Davies for a rd 10 pick is a steam and Watto and Mendis were no brainers. I'm pretty happy to start off with: 1. Rogers 2. 3. Watson 4. 5. Hussey 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. Mendis 11. Davies Particularly given that I've got picks in rds 2, 3 and 5. So long as I make semi-decent picks, my team should be very strong.
I'm interested in knowing the method to only keeping 3 or 4 players. I mean, it's an expanded comp so a pick made in rd 10 in last draft would really be like rd 12 this time so surely the pick that you made at that stage was better. I just reckon you're shooting yourself in the dick by not keeping 5, even if it's a player in rd 13 from last draft.
Could be that your round 10-13 picks were all poor picks, or have declined since then, or you've thought of a different strategy, or whatever.
Yeah. The poor option is a possiblity but I would have thought that most would have made one good pick between then. I mean, for me, I looked at it and thought that I would never be able to get Davies at rd 10, Rogers at rd 7 and Dussey at rd 6. Davies hasn't done much in the last year but he's still bettter than a rd 10 pick.
Round 1 : 24 hours per turn Round 2-18 : 12 hours No time limit between 00:00 24th December GMT and 12:00 January 2nd GMT Sound fair?
So if a team already in the comp keeps 5 players, say from round 1,3,4,8 and 10 does that mean they don't get to pick in rounds 1,3,4,8 and 10 of the new draft or picks 1,2,3,4 and 5?
Yes, we want the draft to run quickly, but I think 12 hours is too long. I don't think pre-picking players works as your 1st or 2nd choice oft get taken in the meantime meaning you may want to completely change your pick when you see that. 24 hrs all up IMO. Cribb will take 18 months to complete the database anyway.
Yeah 24 hours FTW. Being expected to come on once a day and check is fair IMO. I'd like to add something though - give people one hour to make their pick after they come onto the forum and it's their turn. 24 hour rule is fine for the people who aren't actually online, but people exploit it by being lazy and just thinking they'll make their pick later, which is shit. So if someone's "last activity" on their profile page is since their turn started and it was over an hour ago, they can be skipped IMO.
Disagree Cribb. I or Fung may be online, for example, but may wish to consult. It's all well and good to expect us to consult before hand, but if someone has taken our pick in the intervening period, then we can't be expected to pick straightaway necessarily.
