Seriously the quality has just fallen so, so much with Amy gone. It's not even a character thing as Clara is likable but it's the plots and storylines they've followed with her that are just so different. fmd it's ridiculous.
amy sue is overrated awesome actress but dire character. rory >>>>>>>>> her because he actually develops and earns his moments of awesome clara has the potential to be more interesting but most of season 7 has been disappointing for me.
Clara is awesome. Best assistant yet imo. Jenna Louise Colman is hotter than Karen Gillan too. Gonna put that out there That last episode was really good too. Not been a great series though, just been shit storys.
New Doctor being unveiled this Sunday. Peter Capaldi the favourite. I wouldn't mind him; he seems quirky enough to do it despite coming across as dull and dry in all I've seen of him - I think he's got the face of someone who'd play a good doctor. David Harewood also in the running. Just because I'm pedantic though while both are alright choices the fact that they've played different characters in the DW universe before turns me off of them. A bit like I struggled to see Martha and Amy as legitimate for awhile. Wouldn't mind Ben Whishaw or Daniel Rigby. Rory Kinnear would do a good job as well - though he reminds me of Canton Delaware too much.
I fucking love Peter Capaldi but the main reason for that is his great performance in Torchwood so I'd be a bit put of by him playing the Doctor for that reason too. I don't think it's pedantic; he was a massive character in Children of Earth.
Yeah, this is how I feel as well, I guess. Harewood was a relatively significant (like, >>> Amy/Martha's pre-characters) character in proper Doctor Who as well though so it applies to him for me as well, even though he wasn't in *as much* the fact that it was the proper stuff is enough to turn me off. Anyway, I really don't think it'll be Capaldi. I think it'll be Rigby.
