GWS Giants B: Stephen Gilham, Joshua Bruce, Aidan Corr HB: Adam Kennedy, Tim Mohr, Toby Greene C: Lachie Whitfield, Callan Ward, Mark Whiley HF: Tomas Bugg, Adam Tomlinson, Rhys Palmer F: Taylor Adams, Jeremy Cameron, Devon Smith Foll: Jonathan Giles, Tom Scully, Stephen Coniglio Int: Dean Brogan, Anthony Miles, Tim Golds, Dylan Shiel Emerg: Curtly Hampton, Kurt Aylett, Samuel Frost In: Miles, Bugg, Golds, Whiley Out: Reid, Treloar, Townsend, Williams It looks like it is going to get ugly with Hawthorn choosing not to rest players
Seems to be a rotation thing. Whiley has had some good form in the NEAFL. His a bit of a utility player. I hope Will Hoskin-Elliot gets selected soon. Also Townsend and Williams have injuries
Sheedy believes Nin Nat is worth all our draft picks including pick 1? I think trading pick 1, Conilglio and third rounder would be reasonable
Nah, you've already got Giles and could easily pick-up another decent ruck. Coniglio and #1 is two genuine stars. Not that Nic Nat would want to leave nor would West Coast let him go.
NicNat > Pick 1, Pick 19, Pick 37, Pick 55, Pick 77 easily I'd go as far as saying Nicnat > Pick 1, Cameron and Coniglio.
Giles is good enough and there's no need to give up an 800-goal key forward and two gun midfielders to get another ruck. Luenenburger for #19 and a player would be much better for GWS.
I'm genuinely serious. Footy's a business and with the attendances GWS are getting + the interest they seem to have, there is no price to him. He'd - Bring interest to AFL in GWS. Nicnat is to AFL what Folau/Inglis is to NRL and then some. He is *that* much more exciting than any other player. It's incredible. Even NRL/Soccer fans would want to see him play. - Bring interest from other states. He's so well loved, people would adopt GWS as their second team - Merchandise. I reckon he'd honestly bring millions in, millions. Double attendances too. Given the talent at that club, it's priceless. Also worth noting that he is the best ruckman in the AFL when he takes the field. His agility/athleticism puts every player, let alone ruck to shame and he's a better clearance player than 90% of midfielders. There's not a player in the comp that's better at hitting to advantage; not just advantage but clear advantage such that the receiver has an uncontested disposal. He's the best I've ever seen at that. He's also an incredible contested mark. He's got potential to be the greatest ruckman to play the game. Don't let history overpower you - if you consider the best 10 players in the game, it pretty much means on averages one 'top 10 ATG' would debut every 10-12 years, so theoretically we'd have 1-2 top 10 ATGs running around now so ruling him out because there's a better one in history is stupid - we're going to have some new players become ATGs. I see no better candidate bar Ablett right now than Naitanui. Consider how much Naitanui offers now and consider that most ruckmen of his age are still developing in the magoos yet he's already the best in the league. If he develops at the rate of a normal ruckman, he's still got so, so, so much to improve - it's not a stretch to say he could be the greatest ruckman of all time. Securing that, the money, the interest - a franchise player - someone everyone will remember GWS by. It's priceless. They need support. He brings it to them.
I wasn't talking in terms of branding, on-field performance wise trading Cameron, Coniglio and a #1 pick would be idiotic. GWS would be getting reamed if they gave up Cameron and #1 for Nic Nat. Nic Nat has an advantage over other young rucks due to his athleticism. His leap isn't going to improve much over the next few years, but rucks who rely on strength/size will definitely continue to grow and get bigger/stronger.
Disagree re: cameron & pick 1. I'd happily give up Jacobs, our first rounder if we had it and sloane for NicNat. I'd also happily give up Dangerfield and then some. I don't think you understand just how good he is now in an age where the standard of ruckmen in general has improved drastically. even if he improves at half the rate of most rucks he'll be the greatest ruck to play the game.
Nic Nat would be an amazing promotional player. Come AFL make it happen. There is no way GWS will trade Cameron.
He will in our future premiership side It's hard to know how good Patton to me but I think he has a Jonathan Brown Mark II written all over him
West Coast would never, ever trade Naitanui. If they did they'd have Lycett and Sinclair rucking for them in a couple years. GWS are better off going after Nic Nat's twin brother
It's GWS vs Collingwood in the race for Luey if he decides to leave. Not sure which reserve rucks you have but I still think picking up Kosi would be a good idea.
