Yeah but I had a golden epic and now would have had a legendary. Could have started building a decent pirate deck or something. Though that said from what I can see the pirate cards are just bad in general. But you'd imagine some new pirate cards will come out soon as a result.
Also, from the dust I'm trying to craft some rares. What are the best rares around atm? I've read that Azure drake is a good card to craft but it doesn't seem as OP as people make out.
It's only a 1/1 buff There's many other cards which can give a 1/1 or better buff to other minions than the Southsea Captain. Captain Greenskin is pretty crap tbh. Got him in a pack too somewhat recently. It's pretty crap for a legendary card, IMO.
Pirate decks are stupid and don't work. Which classes do you play mostly? The cards you should craft will depend a lot on that.
Yeah I know but he's a legendary doe. I'm just joking, it's actually for the best as I'd probably have convinced myself to build a pirate deck if I'd had both, even though I don't want to as the cards seem boring af. Main 3 classes are Mage, Hunter and Paladin. Warlock is also up there. I have cards like knife juggler, the guy who gains 1/1 for each card played, argent protecter etc.
Here are some cards that I think go well in a lot of different decks due to their all-round usefulness is a lot of different situations: Faceless Manipulator because nothing is better than copying your opponent's high cost legendaries for only 5 mana. Sunfury Protector or Defender of Argus because giving taunt to its adjacent minions is awesome. Argent Commander because it has charge and divine shield, which can be really useful for clearing some minions without sacrificing the card in that turn. Harvest Golem because it's essentially 2 minions for 1. Sunwalker because of the divine shield/taunt combo. Probably not as useful as the others, but is a good card to have.
I've got Defender of Argus, Argent Commander and Harvest Golem, Have been considering a Sunwalker, though I've been playing some rush decks so not sure how well a 6 mana taunt fits in there. Same reason I passed up on the Faceless Manipulator, as well as the fact that I very rarely come up against big legendaries.
If you're going to stick with those 3-4 classes mostly, I'd suggest trying to craft some of their class-specific cards. For Warlock, two of my favourite cards are Summoning Portal and Void Terror, which are both awesome in the right situations. For Paladin, I really like Avenging Wrath because it can be really useful for clearing the board, and Aldor Peacekeeper because you can make your opponent's biggest hitting minions almost useless. Some of the secrets can be really good too. For Mage, I'd recommend Sorcerers Apprentice and pretty much any of the spells, particularly Blizzard and most of the secrets, which can be super useful for pissing off your opponent if they trigger one that ends up losing them the game. For Hunter, you pretty much have to craft Unleash the Hounds. I would also recommend the Scavenging Hyena and Savannah Highmane, as well as most of the secrets. For the secrets on Mage, Paladin, and Hunter though, they all can be useful, but choose whichever fits your play style best. Also, read into the cards online for further information on strategies to play secrets if you're unsure about any of them. You can find all of the cards I mentioned here: http://www.hearthhead.com/cards#gallery:0+1-4
Try crafting Leeroy Jenkins if you get enough dust for it. I run it along with 2 Argent Commanders in my rush Mage deck and it seems to be quite successfull at the moment.
Thing is I'm not sure yet which classes are going to become my main ones. Those are my four main ones right now, but I've juggled between the various classes so much that I really can't put one down as my best. For example, I'd barely played paladin until yesterday, at which time I realised my neutrals synergized so well with paladin, and would probably take paladin right now if I were to play a competitive match despite not even having the deck leveled to 10. But previously I'd mained warlock, hunter and mage for periods of time.
Leeroy only costs 4 mana. I just realised I mixed up what cards go in what decks. I run 2 Argent Commanders (no Leeroy) in my Mage deck focussed on spells/secrets, and the Leeroy (no Argent Commanders) in the rush Mage deck my bad.
Haha fair enough. Leeroy seems a fair way off for me though. Figure I'm better off getting an array of good rares than splashing on one legendary May have a look at faceless as well as those class-specifics though, cheers man.Have 215 dust so can get two of them.
Yeah, definitely better to spend some dust on rares than legendaries first. I only crafted my first legendary (Leeroy) after I was able to get most of the rares I thought were necessary for the decks I run. Probably the best way to go about it to have a good selections of rares to mix with your deck, rather than just a bunch of basic/common cards and one legendary thrown in
Serious question. If this wasn't a Blizzard game with all the Blizzard polish and Warcraft theme, would you guys be playing?
Thats a loaded question. Would we play any big publisher game if it wasn't marketed in a specific way?
