we need an allrounder that is scoring runs for me. If it was a batsman at 6 you would be relying on 4 bowlers.
It sort of brings back the discussion in the old Eng vs WI thread. Do we play the best players or the best team? If we did have the best players we would indeed proberly have 6 bats, 1 keeper and 4 bowlers. But for us atm I think the best way is proberly 5 bats, 1 keeper, 4 bowlers and a Bits+Bobs player. To give us more of a balance. Also I dont think we have a Rep-Quality atm. Maybe Dafter or Fittaman will get there soon perhaps.
What we need is a batting allrounder to really come good and a spinner, Wells looked to be the one but he went inactive. Then we could run with 1. Batsman 2. Batsman 3. Batsman 4. Batsman 5. Batsman 6. Keeper/ Batting allrounder 7. Batting Allrounder/ Keeper 8. Bowling allrounder/allrounder 9. Spinner 10. Fast 11. Fast That'd be the ideal team, ATM we are good enough to compete in the PC IMO, not win it but Vic did well last season and we've beaten them really comfortably. However to really challenge NSW and QLD on a consistent basis we'd need those couple of guys to come through and give more balance to our squad and give us a chance of becoming the best province. Still I think we are good enough to be given a chance in the PC.
Only 2 fasts? That means one of Whicker, Farny and BB will be dropped. Most likely BB Unless you meant Farny as the bowling allrounder at 8 which would then just be farcicle Really could have used with Emm staying put
I was going to post exactly what Luffers put TBH but then again it doesn't really need to be as strict as that as 2 pure allrounders could do the job possibly. I'll never be good enough to be a frontline spinner.
IMO I wouldn't have a batting allrounder at 7. A batting allrounder should be picked more for their batting ideally. So if they cant bat in the top 6 they shouldnt be playing IMO (except in our case if Marcuss's bowling became superior to Smith's) unless you have a freak keeper.
