Any of the Brits (or anyone I guess) planning on going to this?

Mate is a big Rhinos fan and we are talking about going down for the weekend.

I went last year, definitely looking at going again was a great weekend, and being a Bulls fan it was great not to worry about the result lol

My dad used to go when it was in Manchester, usually blagged free tickets as his best mates daughter works for Salford Reds. Always said it was an absolute cracker to go to, and the weather usually held out.

Its in Newcastle again isn't it? Wouldn't put it past them to organise a day trip up there TBH - Might just tag along and go drinking with mates instead, much prefer real rugby :p

Yeah it's in Newcastle again, the atmosphere was far better than manchester, well worth the trip. I missed one of the days last year to meet up with a mate who lives up there, but for £30 a ticket doesn't really matter how much rugby you watch

I think I'll try to go to this. I'm definitely going to get tickets to the world club challenge matches. Does anyone have any ideas when tickets come on sale?

Would prefer them to move it about every year, one in the South could be great for new fans.

We have done Cardiff 3 times, Manchester 3 times, Edinburgh twice, and now Newcastle twice. It's tough to find somewhere good, for me Newcastle and cardiff have been the best due to being in the city centre, more people go for the weekend.

Would like to see it in the midlands if possible

Would it not work in London?

It would, just need the right stadium, as only get about 40'000 a day, but also with 11/12 teams being from Yorkshire and Lancashire don't know how many would go down for the day

Yeah definitely. Wigan played in London for a game in Super 8s this season and got a new record for a RL attendance in the city. Stick it at somewhere like Wembley which doesn't have stuff on all the time and you've got a winner there imo.

Yeah but the cost of the day itself would outweigh the rugby. Many people only watch half of the matches at best, and enjoy a good day having a few beers with mates in the pubs nearby, nipping in/out of the stadium depending on the match. Going to London is pricey, staying over is pricey, Wembley is pricey, the local area is pricey. Even if they kept the match ticket down, the rest of the costs would ruin it.

Also Wembley is, in most peoples mind, a big finals day out, going for whats a round of normal fixtures might take the lustre off it.

Only said Wembley cus that's the only place that doesn't have anything on most of the time :p

Can see where your going with it but got to agree with cpr, would cost too much, that and Wembley should just be the cup final or internationals, would be better some where like White Hart Lane or Stamford Bridge

The Olympic Stadium would surely be a shout.

  16. cloughie09 TJ Clough

Yeah, depends on capacity, is it 50 or 60,000?

Don't think size matters, unless Londoners were going, the turnout would be low for the reasons I gave - the price issues don't just apply to Wembley, but pretty much all of London.

Yeah that's why I think a smaller stadium just to make it look more full, like I said personally if it was to move it would have to be some where like the midlands, but I was told at the last one it could be in Newcastle for another 3 years, so we shall see
