The few of us that have been involved in drafts in the past know how long they take. Here is my proposal to speed things up and perhaps make things easier for Speirz. If he doesn't like it don't worry, but I reckon it could work. As we have already started I reckon if we're up for it, it can start after round 2. Dot points is probably easiest to explain. - Drafts are done via PM. There is a deadline for everyone for each section of drafts and their PM must be in by then. There will be planty of time to do it. - Each section of the draft is split into the next five selections. - Everyone sends Speirz their next five selections. Each selection is allowed two reserves in case those players become selected before your turn. EXAMPLE: JULIAN"S DRAFT PICKS Round 2 draft: 1st choice: David Beckham. 2nd choice: Steve Gerrard 3rd choice: Owen Hargreaves Round 3 draft: 1st choice: Mark Schwarzer 2nd choice: Zeljko Kalac 3rd choice: Brad Jones Round 4 draft: 1st choice: Robinho 2nd choice: Adriano 3rd choice: Dirk Kuyt etc etc. - If people miss out on any of their choices, they then manually complete the draft in the same order until those 5 rounds are complete. --------------------------------------------- Thoughts? Constructive criticism, possible amendments etc etc.
Yeh maybe 3 for the first pick. 5 for the 2nd. 7 for the 3rd. 9 for the 4th. 11 for the 5th. Although it should be done in 3 rounds at a time imo.
It is all going to come down to Speirz though and there will need to be ground rules which are set in stone. No changes to PMs, once you send it, that is it for three draft rounds. Mainly because Speirz will have heaps of work to do with all the PMs if he were to ok this.
Hybrid and I's is better IMO.. ..Well planned. Instead of picking players, I suggest you sort your draft spots into positions first. That way it's easier to plan your side and who you want playing where. E.g 1st pick; (ST), Rooney, Torres, Utaka in order of preference 2nd (MC) Lampard, Carrick, Douchebag, 3rd, (RB) Bumhole, Dickwad, JewishPriest.
I just did this listed Forwards group 1 (central forwards) blah blah Blah blu disug Forwards group 2 (wider forwards) doigisdg dsoghodgh dg Midfielders group 1 (central) dihgdgn Midfielders group 2 (outside mids) osgib Defenders group 1 (CB) dfdag Defenders group2 (outside backs) dsogodbg Goalkeepers dusdihub Round 2:Forward (G1) ROund 3:Midfield (G1) Round 4efender (G2 etc etc
Yeah Julian, I sent in a list of 15 or so players that we wanted and in brackets was about 3-4 people we'd take if the players we wanted were taken.
Prefer Julian's system myself. Balancing out your squad is all part of it, and restricting which position you can pick in each round would be a bit unfair, especially on those who've picked already.
Ye dictating what positions we have to pick would ruin it tbh... Also more unfair on those hwo are last for that pos.
Lol fair dos. i dont think it should be restricted to how many options you should send in for each draft round either... If you want to send in a longer list then you should be able to.
I don't mean to restrict what positions should be picked. Rather in your own mind so you can help formulate the team in your head and organise your key players.
Nothing wrong with that. Send in a massive list (just in case heaps of people are picked) but only 1 is chosen from that list for that round. Like I said, mine is structured so I have a favoured pick each round, but extra picks in reserve in case the player is taken by then. 1. ______ (if taken, we'll take _____, _______ or _______ in that order) etc etc
