What do people reckon about this?

1.How on earth do they conclude two or three percent?
    2.Are these people fucking mental?

Probably include all the 10m interpretations to increase their population.

long overdue, makes sense. Good work.

Can't understand why it's received so much media coverage throughout the year though.

So many more interesting things they could be filling the papers with.

Game changer. Yeah okay. Poor VR decisions are not due to a lack of technology. This is, for the most part, about speeding up the process. The accuracy won't improve much because at the end of the day it will always come down to interpretation. That is the crux of the matter. And the current interpretation is: assume it's a try unless you can definitively prove otherwise. Whilst ever that is the case, things won't improve much.

The figure of 2% is grade A horseshit. Who decided what was and wasn't a correct decision? How anyone can stand there with a straight face and say VR's only get 2 out of every 100 decisions wrong, is beyond me.

Consistency, however, will no doubt increase; whether that's a good thing or a bad thing remains to be seen. But it will certainly improve given the reduction down to 8 from 22. That has nothing to do with the so called bunker system though.

After discounting Greenburg's ridiculous claim of zero errors, I did like the next thing he said.

"We should be holding them to account"

Fucken oath......some of Luke Patten's (is he still refereeing?) decisions shouldn't even allow him any where near a TV screen let alone the video replay box.

Drop them, fine them, whatever....make them accountable.

That said......decisions they make are based around the "referee guidelines" or referee KPI's they have to abide by.

Either its a shepard or it's not FFS!
The rule guidelines and plain ole common sense is what needs revamping the most.

Anyway, not completely poo pooing the "bunker system" ....will wait and see if it turns about to be any more fucked then what we already have.

    Fine them

    Fuck me.

    Will barely make a difference.

So how it a bunker any different than the current Video ref?

  10. AVA T Delonge

The idea was that you'd have the same video refs for the matches as they didn't have to travel, so you got more consistent interpretations of the rules etc. No idea if that's what they will implement though.

Edit: Yeah, cutting down from 22 to 8, so you got the same guys making the calls each week.

There will be a major fuck up before origin.

I was weary of this but having seen it the last two nights, I'm basically sold. The decisions are so much quicker. Especially the ones with grounding where they usually look at every angle 100 times. Apparently yesterday the decisions made were 1/3 quicker than on average

The speed at which they're making decisions has fuck all to do with this system IMO. They're just choosing not to look at every angle a million times when its evident after the first viewing. They could've done that years ago.

I can't wait to see what happens when they make a major blunder (so far every decision has been blatantly easy). I'm willing to bet they go back to the old shit of review after review after review. It's only a matter of time when the tough decisions arise and they start copping the same old shit because of incorrect decisions.

I mean honestly, has there been a single call in the two matches so far that you and I could not have made ourselves, in the same amount or even less time? Nah not at all.

I agree with you that the calls have been straight forward. However, the other major factor as to why the decisions are much quicker is because of the fact that the video referee has control over the cameras. When there is a tougher call and multiple looks are required, instead of having to communicate with the producer, wait for them to play it, then ask for another angle, wait for them to play that, then go back to the original angle etc etc, the video ref can just do it himself. That alone saves a lot of time

That's about the only thing I think is valid with this system. I mean it's essentially having the live feed of each camera on one screen and having a play, pause, rewind, function. I'm not sure why that's worth 2 million though. The directive to make quicker decisions is the major factor for mine That could've been fixed years ago and with no cost whatsoever. The reason it got so bad is because of all the pressure on them to get it right. The same will happen here. Give it time.

Its a better system to what we used to have.

Plain and simple. I don't get all the discussion about it.

Its like upgrading your water tank. Such a non event.

Looks pretty good to me so far

Yeah I like the changes but all the stuff about zero errors through the season is hilariously stupid.
