2nd Period: The teams skate out for the 2nd period, Ducks (B) looking pretty pleased with the scores. A few of the Ducks (A) team looking quite frustrated. Play gets underway with Conway winning the faceoff, he knocks the puck to Reed, who finds Moreau. She moves the puck, giving it back to Conway... She's been cleaned up off puck by Mendoza, and she gets up and she's laying into him, it's on here, Moreau has piked a fight with Mendoza after what she feels was a cheap, late hit. Mendoza didn't want part of it, but Moreau is is forcing it on him, he throws a couple and Moreau goes down easily. The ref puts them both in the box for 5. The crowd is going crazy, getting behind the Ducks (A) after that one, I guess they like the underdog, or are like Australia and say no to beating up women.
Middle 2nd Period: Moreau and Mendoza have return to the ice, in the past few minutes. The break seems t have done good for Moreau, she's lost some of the frustration and is playing the game better for it. Ducks (A) attacking, passing it around well again. Moreau passes to Averman, he gets rid of it to Conway as he is hit hard by Tyler. Conway has a bit of space, he moves in close to goal and shoots... Gaffney gets her sick to it, but it deflects off it into the post and in the goal! Conway scores! Gaffney looks disappointed with her keeping there, she was caught slightly out of position and couldn't quite get enough on it to keep it out. Scores: 1 - 2.
Late 2nd Period: Ducks (A) looking a lot stronger now, maybe even slightly on top in the game, they're getting some good attacks on, and have been unlucky not to score a couple of times. They're back on attack here, Conway with the puck, shoots, Gaffney saves with her pads, the deflection comes quickly to Moreau ho sees conway is in a good spot, she fires a pass to him and Conway hits it first time, and it's a goal! Gaffney just couldn't recover quick enough between shots and Conway was just in the right place to put one home. The quick pass from Moreau made that goal, a great assist. Score: 2 - 2
The buzzer goes and the period ends with Ducks (A) looking on top now even though scores are locked at 2 - 2.
3rd Period: Teams are back out for the 3rd period, Ducks (A) will be looking to keep the momentum going there way and win the game. Faceoff is won by Ducks (A) and we're back underway here, puck goes to Dave Karp, he takes the puck up ice a bit before passing to Reed, Reed passes to Conway, and Karp gets hit late. Ref calls 2 minutes for Portman for the hit. Ducks (A) on the powerplay here. Ducks (B) win the faceoff, Banks knocks it to Tyler. Ducks (B) trying to work it out of their area, they want to give away no opportunities on this powerplay against them. Tyler with a pass looking for Banks, but Conway intercepts it, and only has tyler and Gaffney to beat. Conway knocks it back to Fulton as Tyler goes for him, Fulton skates close to Gaffney, fakes her out of her pads and shoots. It's good! Ducks (A) score on the powerplay! Score: 3 - 2
I get a score card with all the stats, and commentary, but the commentary is pretty bland, but it gives me enough to know basically what's happen, so I just spice it up a touch so it's a bit more interesting.
Middle 3rd Period: Ducks (A) leading by a single goal here, but Ducks (B) are looking strong again, Portman looking to make up for his late hit which gave the ducks a powerplay which they scored in to take the lead. The Ducks (B) themselves now on the powerplay, Luis Mendoza with the puck, has a shot, but Goldberg takes it in his glove with ease and we'll have a face off here. Banks wins the faceoff and the puck comes to Russ Tyler, who shoots fast and he beats Goldberg AGAIN! that's a hattrick for Tyler, he's easily been the most dangerous player on the ice tonight. Score: 3 - 3
Very Late 3rd Period: Scores are tied here, both teams have gone through good and bad periods, but it's ended up quite even towards the end, but the Ducks (A) have just lost Moreau to the box for the rest of the game, with under 2 minutes to go. Ducks (B) have won the face off and look to be trying to run the defence around a bit, getting them out of position. Ducks (A) looking a bit tired and struggling with the 4 on 5 game. Ducks (B) passing it around well, really stetching Ducks (A), Tyler has the puck, he's been on fire tonight with goals but this time he passes it to Banks, who passes it on to Robertson. Robertson fakes the shot, but passes it to Portman. Portman gives it back to Tyler. Tyler moves it around, making space for himself. He's got himself infront of goal with some space, he takes the shot..... GOAL!!!!!!!! Ducks (B) take the lead with almost no time on the clock! They're celebrating the win already, but the ref gets them back into position to finish the game. Ducks (A) win the face off, it goes to Karp. Karp gives it to Conway, Conway to Reed. He lines up a shot, It's fast, but It goes wide and the buzzer goes off. Disney Ducks (B) have won a tight game here, the late powerplay goal has been the difference. Ducks (A) can't believe they've lost it. Final score: 3 - 4
